Newbie question: Where are all of the glks?
Hello all, I am new to the forum and I have a somewhat strange but important question...do you glk owners find that the increased presence of glks is more of a regional thing? I have been looking to buy a glk for a few months now but honestly I don't seem to see them on the road at all where I live and was just wondering if that absence was just a regional thing...I currently drive an old ML350 with 200k miles which I love but it's only a matter of time...I like the glk's specs, size and boxy look but I'm hesitant to purchase without hearing more from actual glk drivers and since I can't seem to find any glk drivers where I live I am soliciting info from you guys...any feedback about what you like about your glk would be greatly appreciated!

Next year model....
It will be offered with two new engines (one a blutec diesel) and a host of other major improvements.

We've had ours almost 2 years now. The first year we only saw one or two every so often. But now that's it's been in production for 3 years we are seeing more. I mean at work there are at least 5 now. Still not as many as say the ML350 or BMW X3/X5, but I think that's a good thing.

Well, one other reason could be sales for the GLK have almost all but dried up. My sales guy showed me a survey where over 65% of new car buyers thought the GLK was too ugly for their tastes, thus a reason for the new refreshed face and interior. The survey (not sure who conducted it, could have been MBUSA?) also said the GLK was too tight inside, had only one engine trim (USA) & poor milage. So I guess they indeed listened and will be bringing at least 2 new engines, a sharper looking exterior, and up to 40mph in the next GLK! As far as increasing interior space, we'll have to wait for the X205 I guess.

GLKs are very popular in L.A., but this is the MB capital of the US...

Yes, I agree... I even like our 2010 facia much better than the new one. As far as interior room, I must think it's about width, not length. Americans are getting wider around the waist than say, the Germans. So I see where most (heavy-set) Americans may feel a little cramped inside. That said, MB knows how to go after the market and they will, oh yes they will.

Here in Calgary, AB I probably see at least 2-5 GLK's a day on my commute to work. BMW deffinitely outsell Mercedes here, probably because you have to wait 1-3 months to get a MB product, beemer dealers seem to stock pile their products, hmm.....

my wife bananas! :D
GLKs definitely are more popular in large urban areas. You will see alot in Toronto as well. A special spot for GLKs will be in suburbs north of Toronto called Markham & Richmond Hill. Here, the GLKs are at its natural northen habitat. On my street alone there is around 5. Not a day goes by without me seeing multiples and multiples on the road

Ever since the frontal lobotomy I can't seem to recall seeing anything.........
Really Dude, is this a serious issue, is this some form of secret message to someone. Maybe you can't find the spanish sub title feature on your new TV and you've gone completely nuts, or just maybe it's that little yellow light under the rear view mirror, it has control of you, it's invasion of the body snatchers, aaaaaaaahhhhhhh.............................

I see them everyday, at least 3 or 4, and I'm in a small town (50k pop.). I sold mine when I fell in love with the new "12 E-Coupe, but regret not keeping it for the dogs. I may buy a used one, but it would be pre-facelift as I'm not digging the new style...
