Wink New 2011 GLK 350 Owner... Confused?

I am new to the MB world, first.

I purchased a pre-owned GLK 350 4Matic three days ago. I am a little confused by the intermittent warning sound while driving. It's like a seat belt warning sound that I have heard on other cars. Keep in mind that I am wearing my seat belt. My first instinct is to look to see if there are any warning messages on the dash and there is not. I don't know what I'm suppose to be alerted to. Any ideas?

I'm sure it is something obvious and I will feel like an idiot when I get the answer. Lol!

I don't know if that is a good description?!?!

Thanks and forgive me if this has been asked before as I have been reading page after page looking for the answer.

If you have a front seat passenger and they don't wear their seat belt, the seat belt chime keeps coming on and the light on the dash flashes the same time... the other time I've heard the chime is when i accidentally press the emergency brake, but then it clearly tells you to release the parking brake with a red warning text on the display.

Could be your Parking brake ... I know mine chimes when I forget to take it off. The emergency parking brake pedal is on the floor and the release handle is below the steering wheel to the left.

Unhappy So obvious!

I am happy to report that my GLK 350 is in perfect working order. I mentioned in my original post that I am new here and it is probably something that would make me feel like an idiot...

I'm embarrassed to tell you all that it wasn't the car at all... It was my stupid I phone! The chime that I was hearing is my email alert on the phone, it is very close to the sound that the seat belt alert in the car makes. I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

I feel like a complete idiot! Thanks to all that took time to try to help me and post. Sorry to have wasted your time however I hope this was at least entertaining.

Please tell us that you don't read emails while driving.

My phone also chimes when receiving an email. For the first week I owned my GLK350, I looked at the dash for messages, too. Duh.
