What's next?

Hello everyone,

Saw a thread in another forum that i liked and decided to see what the GLK owners are up to. I just wanted to know what is next for you guys in terms of mods or in terms of a new car? What are you thinking of getting for the next car? Would love to know where you are heading.

Thank you.

We really like the compact crossover segment & the s.o. & I have been discussing maybe migrating to this next.

But I say rolling real estate is nice too

Never seen this before! Smart move from porsche because smaller suv are big sellers all over the world, the engine is interesting as well as producing 370 HP! It looks nice too similar to the cayenne.

The GL looks amazing and for sure the AMG version is a beast, i have to say both choices are great.

Here are the cars I own right now:
77 MBZ 450 SLC
96 993 Porsche Targa (glass top)
05 MBZ SLK
05 MBZ 230 Kompressor
10 GLK 350

Will be acquiring a 65 Mustang Fastback very soon; and my last retirement car I will be acquiring will be an 04 Modena F1. That's it; I'll stop there.

Very very slow
CLS550 is a beauty.
I saw a CLS63 today and it's very nice.

For me....hopefully will be a Mustang Shelby GT500.

After almost a year from the last post in this thread, I've changed my mind about the CLS550 and i am waiting for the 2015 C63! The C63 has always been a fav and ill be so happy if i get the chance to own one soon. What about you guys? The GLK's new generation is coming out next year, any plans?

In term of mods with my GLK, i don't have any plans for now. The only thing i usually do is change my tint every once in a while! I added a red lip to my wheels a while back, so i don't think i will be changing anything related to my wheels anytime soon.

2015 E63S AMG & 2013 GLK350
Prior to the GLK I had two ML's and I think I'm leaning in that direction again for the next one. As for the C63 I'm going to wait until AMG actually releases info but I want my next car to be AWD and am leaning towards the CLS63. I've also got a thing for the E63S wagon, something about a 577hp AWD wagon that's almost too ridiculous to exist makes me want it lol I love my current rides and both the ML and the CLS are due for a facelift around '15 or '16 so I may wait and see.

You can't go wrong with neither the CLS63 nor the E63 Wagon, they are the best looking in their segment no doubt. Have you ever driven a CLS63? if so, how would you compare it with your C63?

I'll be waiting for a major change with the GLK engine to buy a new one, maybe not anytime soon. C63 first!

GLK 350 / Porsche 993
I will keep GLK until it craps out. It's been very good reliable car with very good build quality and is almost paid off. I also bought it pretty loaded, so it has everything I need in terms of options. The only thing I wish it had is MB adaptive seats. I took pretty good care of the car so it's still like new minus couple chips from highways. Hoping to keep it for another 5 years. As far as next car, I change my mind weekly so who knows.

The second "fun" car is '98 Porsche 911 (993) that is here to stay.

Very nice, the GLK is pretty reliable! I am also planning on keeping the GLK for a long long time, enjoy your rides!

Love this thread N91K came up with.
Really can see how taste & needs changed esp. as new info come out.

Seems my original desire for a Macan & Aircraft Carrier has been negated by blandness & Porsche over pricing & the lack of uniqueness with the GL.

But Kozak brought up something unique with the TMX that hadn't been on my radar (thanks buddy!) & after this week's car show when I was bored until I saw what the Brit's call an estate here.

Surely my taste does change a lot, but my next car SHOULD AND MUST be an AMG. That's the goal for me now. That Telsa looks very modern and the Volvo looks like a jeep/estate.

I'm right there with you. I like the new GL63. However, I used to own a Ducati Streetfighter...perhaps I'll get a motorcycle instead?

As for mods...I don't see many mods for the facelifted GLKs. Perhaps we just need to wait?

Yeah maybe wait a little, but the new generation GLK is around the corner so they might not offer mods for the older generation. The GL63 is amazing and spacious too!

Instead of starting a new thread i decided to add on to this one. I posted a few days ago in the C63 forum about the car i just got because i initially wanted to get the new generation 2015 C63 but instead i got offered to buy a 2011 Aston Martin Rapide with only 8000KM, it was a great offer i couldn't resist. It was my dream car for sure!

Haha, looks like the dog is sitting on the Porsche!

We recently picked up an Infiniti G37S coupe, so I'm good in the car department.

Been looking at a new Rolex, however...

I'm 17 years old about to graduate high school. I was originally thinking about giving my GLK to my mom next year and purchasing a 11' S550 or a 15 C-Class but as of right now I've changed my mind and I have decided to keep my GLK and continue to save money for a house.
I got my GLK last year when I was 16 and I love it. I also was looking into a GL450 or a ML350 and eventually one day I'd love to own a G550… Although right now my mind is set on a home.

Wow. At 17, you're already driving a MB and planning to buy a house.
I am jealous.
I remember I was riding public transit at your age.
Anyway, excellent idea to invest in a house.
