2013 - Wheres my fog light button??

I have picked up my 2013 GLK and I have the Xenon Lighting package with Adaptive High Beam Assist. My GLK has front fog lights, but I have no idea where the switch is. When I look in the manual, it should be beside the rear fog light switch. I only have the rear fog light switch. How do I turn my fogs on??

Describe your front fog lights. Start you GLK in the daytime. Set the light switch to AUTO. Walk to the front and tell us what lights you see.
Are you in Canada? If so, I was never here.

I just looked at the photo in your other thread. You don't have front fog lights. You have LED daytime running lights. Just like my 2012 with the Premium Light Package.
Set the light switch to AUTO and fuhgettaboutit.

The Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) may not be "programmed" to be lit, if so, they must be switched on by using the on-board computer.

Thanks for the reminder. That is the DRL on switch. Set by our dealer at delivery and not touched since. I will never understand the US allowing an essential safety feature to be user defeated.

I suggest that you read the book.
Page 33, #5 in the illustration.
Page 217. Overview of the menu system.
Page 227. Activating DRL. Also see page 111.
Set the main light switch to AUTO. You will never be in the dark. Others will be able to see you.
Good luck.

Does this mean that 2013 and newer will not have factory fog lights? Do the LED's put out a wide, low light field? I use the fogs a lot at night running through backwoods roads to light up the sides so I can see the critters that want to take out my front fenders. I also use them in rain and fog to see the Jersey Barriers. If I didn't have them, I think I would put on aftermarket fogs. Funny, this comes up now as for the last 5 days we have had heavy fog in the Delaware Valley area.

I miss fog lights on our 2012. The LEDs replace the fog lights with the Xenon light package. However, I would gladly give up fog lights for the Xenons. It's dumb not to have both. Alas, LEDs are in fashion. Fashion before function is an alien concept to me.

Calm down Venchka. It's a forum. You're acting like a child.

Unfortunately, with the lighting package you receive CORNER ILLUMINATING LIGHTS (they may or may not call them fog lights in the brochure). They are integrated into the main headlamp housing and only turn on when you are turning left or right under a set speed or turn on your turn signal while travelling under a predetermined speed.

Alas, in my 2013 without lighting package the LED DRL is standard. Not particularly pretty to look at and completely useless considering they could have simply used the high beams as a DRL and left the much more useful fog lights alone.

If you notice the LED strips on the standard US 2013 package are angled so that they act as fog lamps. I'll have to ask my wife if it is "always on" in the auto position and increases illumination at night. We are in critter happy environs so we have to have "side road" illumination.

The reason fog lamps perse were removed because of a nanny EU study that said 3 % of other drivers found fog lights were distracting. If anything is misused or misaimed it will cause problems.

They went to a LED array rather than a fog light; same effect with "a light that dares not speak its name."
