2013 GLK creaking noise
I have my new 2013 GLK350 for 1 week only, I noticed a creaking noise from the passenger side when driving even on flat roads. This is my third Mercedes, it is really annoying and I am very disappointed. Please advise if any solutions for this issue. Toronto, Ontario

It will stop eventually...
The double window seals have something to do with it. My 2012 is much quieter now after 16,000 miles. MB really improves with age

I have a creaking noise all over the place !! I bought the car used and it is 2010 so, still under warranty but because I see lots of people having the same issue, I thought I might get used to it

It's been suggested in other threads to buy a can of proper/real silicone and treat all the door seals/rubber with it... no more squeaks! What I have read is they state to use the best silicone available..... Apparently, some of the door seals dry due to different climates... worth a try, anyway.

I noticed that the 2013 GLK350 in the showroom that I saw today had a REALLY REALLY REALLY creaky driver's door handle (not door release). Every time I put my hand on it it would creak VERY loudly...

3M™ Silicone Lubricant Dry Type: "High quality silicone lubricant which eliminates rubber squeaks, prevents sticking and seals out moisture. This product contains no petroleum oils to stain fabrics and will not freeze at -28 degrees F nor degrade at +350 degrees F.". http://3mcollision.com/products/mech...ype-08897.html.
3M™ Silicone Lubricant Plus Wet Type: "A high solids, high viscosity aerosol lubricant designed for lubricating moving parts, eliminating squeaks caused by friction; protecting against rust and corrosion; sealing out moisture; preserving plastics, rubber, leather; etc.". http://3mcollision.com/products/mech...ype-08877.html.
What I use, and have used for years, is the Swissvax Seal Feed, which really "nourishes" the rubber. http://www.swissvax.us/merchant.mvc?...&Category_Code=.

Creaking on a MY2010
I was experiencing a LOT of creaking from all four doors, and for the life of me, couldn't figure out where it was coming from. For me, it turned out to be the seal where the window glass meets the door frame. I applied the 3M dry silicone to the window seals around all four doors...and no more creaking and squeaking! Silence once again....

Wurth makes a rubber treatment without silicone (products containing silicone are not the best for rubber in the long run). At one time this was available in a slick applicator as shoe polish was in days gone by. You know, the kind with a pad applicator in a squeeze bottle. Have not been able to find the Wurth stuff with this applicator so have gone to Gummi Pflege another German product which does the same thing with the same applicator. I buy it from www.autogeek.net
