New to me 2010 GLK350 - confused about Ipod connection

I got a fully optioned GLK350. It has Comand - the 7" screen, bluetooth, backup camera, HK sound, the harddrive, Sirius, etc...
In the glovebox, all I see is a regular little audio jack, which I understand is to feed an AUX signal. I thought this system could control on Ipod. How do I do that? Many thanks!

I think Universal Consumer Interface (UCI), ordering code 518 (an option when ordering a GLK), iPod interface and retrofit are keys here.

Do a seach about uploading all your songs to the command hard drive.

It takes a long time to load songs to the hard drive and you need to think about how you want to organize your folders. I have the extra iPod cable but never use it. I load music on a memory stick. Between the USB and Sirius I'm good.

Bought one of these

Power adapter to provide usb power to the bluetooth dongle from plug in the glove box. Aux input plugged in. I can play music without wire straight from my iphone and it sounds perfect. Problem solved, and likely better than factory set up.

2010 GLK350
I just bought a 2010 GLK350 with navigation, bluetooth, hk sound, backup cam and 2 dvd player/tv's in the headrest. I have the exact opposite problem though. All I have is a an ipod cable coming out of the hole next to the power socket in the glove box and I can't find an auxiliary connection anywhere. I have an android phone and want to hook it up to the stereo. Can someone tell me where the aux port could be, if I even have one or what I could do to get one?

Thanks

The aux port is in the glove compartment, right hand side/wall.

There are two cables available for that port. One is a USB while the other is for an iPhone/iPod or a 3.5mm mini jack. You can take the earphone out and connect it to the dual cable and play songs from your Android device but you cannot control it from the car. Hope this helps.

BTW the dual cable was not standard with the vehicle you will have to find someone who is selling it or go to MB dealer. As I remember I paid about $50.00 for it when I bought mine.

Hi. Are these OEM cables? I keep seeing several similar cables offered as possible solutions but compatibility seemd to be an issue. Did you buy yours from an MB dealer?
Thanks.

There are two Mercedes dual cables available, a newer one that was NOT compatible with my car when I picked it up, and an older one used in the 2012 W212's. I picked my car up at the factory and it was lucky I carried the older cable that works. Can't address older models. Mine was same as 2013-14 models and I presume the 2015's will be the same.

Best recollection is the one which works has a grey surround at the connector while the other is black.
