Exclamation Drove with Parking Break 100 miles

My mom took my new 2012 to dealer to get some work done. While there, apparently they left the vehicle for her to take with the parking break 100 pct engaged. My mom didn't realize or recognize any of the warning bells or lights. She drove the car 100 miles (bless her heart).
How bad is this? What should I do?
Ugh.

Was it a loaner car or yours? If the e-brake was on 100% as you say there was no way she could have driven it 10 miles no less a 100 miles. She would never have gotten it out of the lot. So would you like to modify your story?

Even if it did happen as he (?) says, all it will really do is wear the pads a bit.

BTW, the word is spelled brake...

Are you sure the parking brake was actually engaged? On mine, every once in a while, the warning chine/dash lights up on startup, and I need to pull the parking brake lever... don't have an answer, as the pedal was never set! Possibly tapped the pedal getting in or out!
I agree with the others that with the brake engaged, she'd be lucky to get 200 feet, let alone 100 miles! The smell of the brake pads would drive a person out of the car in 10 miles.... that or if it is a 4-matic, the drive-train would be complaining with dash lights flashing everywhere.

Parking brake is alive

I'm always amazed when the parking brake chimes as I rarely press the button. I must hit it accidentally? Haven't figured it out until reading your thread.

I noticed the other day when i began to drive my new 2013MY GLK350 with the parking brake engaged (by accident, of course) that the SUV was still quite mobile. Someone correct me if Im wrong, but I believe it must have mechanically dissengaged while still allerting me that it was infact "on" but mechanically dissengaged to prevent from damage. I quickly released the parking brake while rolling, and the vehicle didnt actually feel any more or less prohibited.

It only takes the slightest bit of pressure to trip the switch that alerts you to the parking brake being engaged. I've had it happen a few time and it is annoying to say the least. A simple pull on the brake release cures the condition but you are right you would not feel any difference in resistance while driving.

I think our friend Mr Treckerj has over exaggerated his story a bit. But he is no where to be found.
