2013 GLK 350
Thinking of trading, NEED help!

Hello, I have a 2011 Glk 350 4matic right now, and I am thinking of trading up to a 2013 Glk 350 with the AMG styling package. My wife tends to drive all over town, and has to fill up every few days. How economical is the new 2013 GLK 350 compared to the previous model? I have a 4matic now, and plan on getting into a 2wd. Any noticeable differences in fuel economy? How many miles more are you guys getting per tank? Whats your average MPG? I tried to read up on different sites about it, but I guess first hand experience from fellow GLK owners would be the best advice I could get. I guess to some people the fuel economy may not matter, but it would be a good enough reason to upgrade to the 2013 for me

I seriously doubt the difference in mpg alone would be worth the hit in depreciation. If you want the 2013 for reasons other than $ savings on fuel I suppose, but to use that as justfication doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I found a 2013 fully loaded with basically every possible option and 1500 miles on it by a private seller for 46k before negotiations. The gentleman paid 58k a couple of months ago. I have a few people interested in my 2011 for 32k right now. I guess Im trying to determine if the extra fuel savings and having a 2 year newer car with all the extra warranty, etc is going to justify the 14k difference in price.

16 city/21 highway for the 2011 4matic versus 19 city/25 highway for the 2013 2WD. For me, that's not enough to justify getting a 2013.

'13 GLK350 4matic,'09 C300 4matic,'15 GLA250,'07 Honda Odyssey, '18 GLE 43
Get the wife the b-class if it is available already in the US. Huge improvement from the previous b-class. It has more usable space than the glk, better fuel consumption, cheaper, and somehow it makes me grin more whenever I press the gas pedal as it has very good torque for a small car. If you are really wanting another glk just wait for the US release of the diesel version.

I'm in the same boat as you are. Thinking of trading my 2010 GLK 350 4matic for a 2013 Glk 350 4matic but for me the decision comes down to this:

1) The fuel economy is a plus (but not the sole reason for the trade)
2) I like the 2013 upgrades, and I like the current GLK body style. (I wanted to wait and see the GLA class but it doesn't look like it is going to wow me)

If the only reason you are trading is for fuel economy than I would say don't do it. But if there are other reasons, like you like the new updates or want to get a car with more features, then go for it.

Agreed! That said....

I am in Scottsdale; bought a '13 back in December. Currently have 2900 on ODO and my last tank averaged 25-26mpg per info. display. 25-26mpg isn't too shabby for a 4000-pound, 302-hp 6 Cyl with lots of punch. On the 101 freeway last weekend cruising @ 75 mph the mpg's held constant at 31-32 for the entire ride.

The Valley is relatively flat, its already warm here, air is stable, etc., so not everyone will achieve these results; but so far, I'm impressed with the mpg's of the '13 GLK350.

Man thanks so much for posting that! I knew I wasn't crazy when I had a 2013 loaner. I drove that thing all over and the gauge didn't even move! My current GLK will literally drop almost a 1/4 tank a day. I live here in AZ too, so I can agree that AZ is basically flat as far as the roads are concerned. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a new one. The gas mileage isn't the ONLY deciding factor, I love the new styling, the extra few years of warranty, and all the changes. It's a great car, I encourage everyone to drive one

I realize this might be a bit outdated but wouldn't it be nice if you had waited a couple more months for the GLK250 BT instead??

I can't wait to pick mine up sometime this week!!! Very excited.
