Exclamation Crazy 2010 GLK GPS Problem

Well it was just confirmed that the 2010 GLK GPS is basically a piece of garbage.

If you search by name, near me...and type a business name in like Home Depot or something like that. It will always DEFAULT the first results to the corporate HQ address and never show you the closest one. I tried this sitting in front of Home Depot and whatya know it comes up with one 50+ miles away from me?

Anyone else have this? Mercedes says this is normal operation and no one searches by business name on their GPS? I do have the latest updated maps for 2013!

While it certainly isn't anywhere near the best system I've ever used, I wouldn't say it's a piece of garbage.

Do you have a smart phone? I use an iPhone5 and it is 1,000x faster to operate than any vehicles' nav search function with nearly instant and reliable results.

I use an iPhone 5 but seriously if someone buys the 2013 update it should have been addressed two years ago? No?

It is likely a programming error/oversight by Navteq (I believe that's the company who supplies the navigation data for M-B vehicles). Many other vehicle manufactures use the same company, our 2011 Volvo XC60 is Navteq based.

When looking for points of interest you can select "POI's near current position" option. That should not give you anything remote from your location.

Correct. But if you search by business name you are SOL.

I have a 2013 GLK with Command, and the POI is terrible. It almost never finds what I'm looking for. I tried to find a big store that has many locations in Brooklyn and it found none.

I don't rely on it and only set destination using my iPhone with the MB app.
