Thule Sidearm Bike Carrier, MB Crossbars
I have the MB Crossbars and have been trying to get the MB bike carrier, but the couple of dealers I've tried, would not sell it for the price advertised on the mbusa website ($175). They wanted $230.
I decided to go with Thule and one that fits the MB Crossbars is the Sidearm, $199 at REI, and you get a 10% dividend at the end of the year.
This weekend I plan to pick up a Cargo Box for the roof as well. I take long trips sometimes and we need more room with the baby...
P.S. REI is having a 20% sale starting May 17th on all Thule and Yakima products.
Some Pictures:
I'll post some picture with the Cargo Box this weekend.

sounds good...did you know that REI is having a sale this friday? you can go back and have a price adjustment if you bring the receipt...I just bought a 17 cubic feet THULE cargo box on tuesday, found out today about the sale and I'm going to have $100 price adjustment and the $45 back at the end of the year...something to consider.
looks great BTW, I think im going to go pick up a bike rack this weekend with the price adjustment!!!

So I got the price adjustment on the thule force XL cargo box...I bought it for $489.95 and got a price adjusted for $391.89...So, with that return, I got another smokin' hot deal on a yakima "forklift" bike carrier which normally lists for $159.95 but with the sale this weekend it was $127.19...
now the cool thing is that both the carrier and the bike rack fit on the roof at the same time.
heres some picture...sorry for the night time pics BTW

Hey kozak79 & ssraccent,
I've just about made up my mind on the Thule Sonic L (634S) when I found your pics of the Sonic XL. I measured the top of my GLK and it looked like the XL might interfere with the antenna. Have you had any reception problems? Also, how much noise have you noticed when traveling with the box at highway speeds?
Thanks.

Would there be room inside those roof boxes for a spare tire?
GLK250 has no spare. Options would be either full size spare (29"diam x 9.5) or Vredestein compact folding spare (23"diam x 6.75").
If we could fit two sets of golf clubs plus a spare up there, I think I would buy the crossbars and box.

Thule Sonic cargo box
Well, I decided to go with the L Sonic vs the XL since they both have a weight limit of 110 lbs. I figured that I could fit 110 lbs of luggage into the 13 cu ft of the Sonic L pretty easily. I went with some Rhino Rack cross bars (SXBS8) that attach quickly and feel secure. It was raining when I took it for a test drive so I was able to verify there were no leaks. There was the slightest wind noise from the carrier above 55mph that disappears with the radio at normal volume.
