My 2012 GLK was rear ended ~3 weeks ago at 80 km/hr (~50 miles/hr), frame was completely bent and the vehicle has been written off by insurance....so hard and sad to see the SUV go like this...photos attached

Safety in MB products is amazing, I wrote Mercedes-Benz Canada a thank you letter for their product saving my life...head rest air bag deployed and was the reason why I walked away with only minor whiplash.

SO! Insurance has to purchase me a brand new GLK as part of my 3 year full replacement policy. I NEED ADVICE!

So far I am leaning towards a fully loaded 250 BlueTec in either the same Tenorite Grey (Steel Grey) or Polar White.

Any comments on anything is appreciated, thanks guys

Get the diesel. But maybe try the paladium color as the glk looks awesome with that color and get another replacement warranty. I had the same warranty and it saved me a lot of headache when my murano was totalled before. Where are you in canada?

One more thing to keep in mind that sometimes ther insurance company will only give you exact specifications or you need to shell out the difference. It will be a good idea to know your salesperson first as sometimes when they know insurance is paying they make sure they make more money.

My insurance is providing full replacement - equivalent options from 2012 in 2013 dollars. They basically take dealer cost on equivalent options today and add 3%, its not 100% but I cannot complain as I get to replace my 2012 with something brand new and not eat any depreciation.....

Looks like I am going to factory order a new 2014 BlueTec with all the toys on it. I cannot find a 2013 (late in year now) with the options and color combo I desire......now I have a 3 month wait, AGAIN

Very nice 2014 GLK... my compliments.. what type if tires do they ship you on the 20's in Canada for My14 for the BlueTec ?

Good question, not quite 100% sure, the 2013's on the dealer lot all had the Pirelli Scorpions, I assume that wont change for MY 2014
