Tell me 3 things that you DON'T like about your GLK250
But that is to be expected given the winter blend fuel content differences. Same thing applies to gassers as well, probably more so than diesels (based on my observations made on previous cars).
It's been a solid -25 to - 18 celcius for a few weeks and I'm up to 7.0 - 7.2 instead. I found this as normal having had diesels before and the gassers did it too. I don't idle the vehicule for extended periods before leaving. Just the time to clear the frost and snow.
No problems with fuel since I started adding additives at every fill-up. Can't trust the service stations to have good -40 diesel.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I took the vehicle in for the A service and mentioned the problem. They found a
fuel line leak. They had to order the part, so after 10 days it's still in the shop.
At least I got a loaner GLK.
Compare using the radio and our 2001 ML to our 2014 GLK, 5 times as much work to do the same thing. Admittedly not as bad as BMW's system but still...
We need a law in the United Nations to make it illegal (politically incorrect statement warning) for the Germans to design human software interfaces. Whether business software from SAP, various programs available for personal computers or car interfaces; they just haven't a clue.
And the navigation system interface, give me a break. Is there a worse one in existence (well yeah Google)?
1. Awkward positioning of turn signal lever and cruise control. Too easy to turn CC on when using turn signals. The positions of the two levers are reversed from my 2008 E-class. (Not near as exciting as switching from my old Triumph T160 motorcycle to my newer BMW. The Triumph has the rear brake lever and shifter on the opposite sides as modern bikes)
2. Inability to input navigation destination via control knob while vehicle is in motion. I'm sure this is supposed to be a safety feature, but it also prevents the passenger from entering data. My E doesn't have this "feature" and yet I haven't crashed once.
3. Wind noise at freeway speeds - this was fixed by the dealer.
But, my wife loves her GLK and as they say - Happy wife, happy life

For the past 6 years, we've been paying our Toyota dealer $150/yr for up to 3 synthetic services per year. While I knew the MB dealer would be somewhat more expensive, I was floored when the dealer tried to sell us MB's service plan. Note that parts and labor are almost identical for both vehicles, people who come from Subaru to Toyota are shocked at the parts and labor prices there.
True the MB service also includes DEF so perhaps an extra $100 per service but an extra $1,000. That almost seems like larceny.
Note that the service at this MB dealer is the best I've experienced in 40 years of driving MBs, they've been taking excellent care of our 2001 ML430. I thought that $650 to change the 16 plugs a might high until I discovered the difficulty of performing the task myself and the special tools I'd need to buy/make. I'm not a novice at vehicle maintenance but have been enjoying not doing it since retiring. With this GLK, I'll be back to doing much of it myself.
So I'll use their service and pay them by task and not for a flat rate service. I don't need to pay them to glance at the brake and coolant fluid tanks.
Thanks for the tip about searching the forum on DEF maintenance, will also be searching for info on a service manual.

My Infiniti G37 only requires a single push, but better than that the seat position can be keyed to each fob, so when I unlock the car it adjusts itself to my position as I am opening the door.
#2 complaint is the 1950's technology light bulbs in all but the headlights. I have a 2011 and the Xenon package was not available on an in-stock car and I didn't want to wait for a special order. The cheapest Tototas and Hondas have had LEDs for years; WTF..?
#3 is the windshield wiper control at the end of the stalk; I frequently activate the wipers when flashing the highbeams.
Other than that, I love the car (and the cheapo door lock pins are easy to upgrade)...
Not true in the US, perhaps other countries. Some of the high end models have partial LED, same for the Hybrids but the cheapest models: nada.
After paying over $700 to replace the Xenon low beam bulbs on our ML430, we specifically bought a GLK without them. Next time they need replacing, I'll convert the system to Quartz Iodine.
I'm 6' and my wife 5' and I'm quite glad that the button has to be held. We live in CO so we know about standing in the cold, still better than being jammed against the controls if I accidentally bump the button while driving. And yes, I've done that.
Certainly agree that putting the cruise control next to the directional was stupid. The old design had them both at the upper quadrant, just as poor a design. Someone was taking stupid pills when they came up with this.

Never thought about replacement cost of the Xenon bulbs; thanks for the silver lining on that cloud!
I've also never bumped my memory seat button so my preference would be one-push, but if the memory was tied to the fob it would be a moot point...
2 If you leave the keys in the radio still goes
3 In Canada you can not change the outside weather temp from c to f
Other than that it kicks the crap out of a $75000 Yukon SLT in every way possible.
2 - 9.0L /100km combined (December 19 until now, Toronto).. 600km per tank
3 - require more CARE ..:-)
just enjoy my new 2015 GLK250
