Pari -let me get back to the GL350 "demo" -.
As I originally told you - I am glad you checked, because that price for "new" was impossible:
1) a 8000 mile Mercedes executive lease return - that would show on CarFax as a one owner - so technically you are 2nd owner - I say this is because if it has been registered to the 1st owner - then you would have the BALANCE of the Mercedes 4yr/50K mile new car warranty from the date of the 1st owner
2) If this was in fact a "demo" - and never prior registered - then you will have the full 4yr/50K new car warranty
3) Be specific with the dealer - "how much new car warranty comes with this GLK ?" - if they answer under 4yrs - then you know it has been registered before
4) Price is good -
5) If the dealer says it has LESS than the full 4yrs/50K new car warranty - then you want to have the Mercedes Dealer sell you that GLK INCLUDING the Mercedes Certification which will give you a additional 1 year Certified Warranty - in addition to the balance of the Mercedes New Car Warranty - and that added Certified Warranty is good up to 100K miles or 1 more added year - whichever comes 1st.
4) That Mercedes Certified Warranty costs the dealer $600-$800 out of their pocket - and is the MOST AFFORDABLE solid warranty protection for your GLK

2011 GLK350 4MATIC, 2013 GLK350 4MATIC
I need help in analyzing below offer. I have been offered by chicago dealer GLK350W4 2013 (White, premium Package1 Without panorama roof & Garage Door Opener, Becker Map Pilot,Roof spoiler, and Heated Front Seats) (MSRP 43000) for 35,900 + taxes? Is this a right price for this 2013 model? I am also wondering about GLK 250? Is this better than GLK350?
For a brand new car, I already expect 10% discount AT LEAST.
So 43000 - 10% = 38700 - 20% (used car) = 30960 OR 38700-15% (used car) = 32895.
I would expect you should pay for that range.
In addition 2014 GLK 350 is already out. So all 2013 GLK NEW should have at least 15% discount, so in that case 43000 -15% = 36550.
You do the math. I think 35k is rather high. You could probably even get a brand new car if you can get they to discount at least 15% or more for close to 35k.
Good luck!

I'd bet the you, sir, have never owned a diesel! Nor have you spilled diesel!
Both evaporate with the same rapidity. The major complaint now of knowledgeable diesel owners is the lack of lubricity in modern diesel. In fact, many add two stroke oil to older cars to recoup some of that lubricity. I do in my old '85 190, and it has resulted in increased power and mileage, by about 3 miles per gallon.
There is NO difference in the dispensing equipment for either diesel or gasoline and if you spill either, the problem is YOU! I've spilled both due to my own carelessness and the problems about which you complain, are the same for both types of fuel. The only difference is evaporation is mostly imperceptible, but diesel fuel is much better to start burning of wood piles because of the difference in flash point of diesel vs gasoline. I keep both in small containers, one to burn slash and the other for fueling equipment. No difference when you spill, or even get on your person. Both smell and both smells are difficult to eradicate.
As for price of diesel, I'm in a rural area, actually the mountains, and there is much diesel equipment that uses it. It's even available for non taxable off road use. Has a red dye which is a dead giveaway if you try to use it on road vehicles and the police check, which they do. The difference in fuel cost per gallon is pennies, usually no more than about 15¢. It is far more economical because of the higher fuel mileage you get.
Another point of savings over the long haul is the lack of the extra equipment needed for gasoline engines. You don't have to be concerned about an ignition system and changing spark plugs periodically. The pumping systems for gasoline are basically the same so that extra and necessary equipment removes another possible replacement or repair cost in the long pull.
I've been a M-B diesel owner since '77 and I've run them side by side with gassers. I speak with experience and knowledge. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it!

While this is not the proper forum for a scientific discussion for evaporation rates of liquids, Google it for an eye opening learning experience. There is little comparison for how quickly and at what temperature gasoline evaporates versus diesel fuel.

Make sense. They offered another brand new (yet have to check on milage, hoping 50 or 100 miles only)2013 GLK350 for 40,870 (MSRP: 45,000) which is only 9 % off MSRP. I probably ask them for atleast 15% off which is 38,250.

Whatever Pari... there is no such thing as a new-new GLK for 15% off MSRP unless you are smoking crack..
Now I have given you the accurate information you did not know - good price, ask for MB Certified which adds additional 1yr warranty on top or up to 100K miles whichever comes 1st - and you have a great deal on a well equipped like new GLK..

I got 12% off MSRP off 2013 GLK250 with 30 miles on the clock. No special incentives, middle of the month and that was the initial internet quote. this was in MA
Pushing to 15% with further negotiations would not be impossible in my opinion

In June we were about to buy a GLK250 and they offered us ~12.5% off msrp. We ended up getting a GLK 350 service loaner that ended up over 20% off MSRP at the end of the day. 15% could happen on a 2013 I would think with the 2014's on the lot. I mean we're talking what, an extra $1,500 or so off a car that is $40k+?

Thanks for the response. I asked for 15% off MSRP on 2013 GLK 350 but received no response. Other dealer offered me 10% off MSRP on 2014 GLK350. Should I go and ask for 13% off MSRP?

If you are not doing it by personal contact, you're doing it wrong! Pick up the phone, ask for a response to your offer and start talking. It's too easy to ignore an email or letter, particularly by the usual sales types who are only looking at their commission. If there response to a contact doesn't get you a counter offer, THEN offer what ever you want but wait for a response. You're negotiating against yourself and they then know they've got you.

Its the end of the month, best time to make a deal + long weekend. Go in person, get it done, walk out slowly if they refuse. There must be more than 2 dealers in your area

If you are willing to accept MSRP minus 13% on a 2013, I would buy the 2014 at 10% discount. Long term, you would be much better off. A full model year is worth more than the $1200-1500 difference in price.
