I am very interested in purchasing a glk. But noticed during test drive that the sun roof doesn't
have a solid cover to block out the light and heat, it only has the mesh cover. Does that offer any protection from the uv rays?
Also, in the summer time do you find the car is warmer inside since the roof doesn't completely block out sun...especially if you have black on black interior

I find with the mesh shade closed, and using a sun visor - the car remains cooler inside (even with the panoramic roof) than it would be if i left the mesh shade open and did not use a sunshade.

P.s. i live in ohio "hot" is 87degrees F. Those in warmer climates may have more insight.

Out here in the Southwest, I find the mesh block to work well. Ours has the light coloured headliner & the almond interior. The max button will cool the interior quickly. Anywhere with a black interior will feel hotter.

Have the black interior and live in So Cal. Not a problem at all. You can always tint the roof

Roof is already tinted is it not but it could be tinted darker. Wonder if the pano roof still has to be in the premium 1 pkg. Be nice if it was optional.

The roof is not tinted. I have it tinted and added the mesh block so it blocks almost all the sunlight.

Glk 350 2013

I just purchased a 2013 glk with 10,300 miles on it. Love it so far. Is there a way to tell via the computer in the car when and if it has had an oil change?
I am getting a message that Service A is overdue, not sure what this means.

Your best bet is to call your service dept & have them run your VIN. They should be able to pull up the maintenance records on it. Is your vehicle CPO?

If you just purchased from a MB dealer he should have performed the maintenance and reset the warning. If you purchased it from somewhere else, get them to have it serviced properly. I think the only service with that mileage is the service A.
If service A was completed by other than MB dealer, you want to make sure they used the proper oil. Might be worth having a dealer do it no matter what to rave it recorded for warranty reasons.

First, where did you purchase it, private or thru a dealer? As previously stated if it was a dealer they should provide you with service "A" at no cost. It is not much more than the oil change and filter and a 27 point safety inspection. If it was private ask them if they had the oil changed. It should be synthetic oil and a MB oil filter or equal. MB does not use paper type filters.

Dealer "A" service depending on your area would be about $150. to $200.
