Didn't happen to me for the first two months, now it is happening about every other day. If I stop the car, wait for a minute, and restart the problem goes away.

Drove for an hour this morning and it never resolved. Pulled over, restarted and it was gone.
Not the end of the world but frustrating.

This used to be a chronic issue for me, but I haven't had it occur in over a year now.

Maybe Sirius will send your radio an update to correct the issue.

Has this problem been fixed on the '14s? Updating channels issue happens to me a lot with my '06 S600 and once in a while on my '07 CLK 550. Never on my '12 C63.

Odd! I would say in the last six months, it's happened maybe once, possibly twice. Ever since I started my subscription after running out the free trial.

What are you guys paying for your subscription?

My wife didn't use it much and her subscription finishes tomorrow. So they called me to extend. I told them the channels are too painstakingly long to scroll back and fourth on her GLK as well as my Audi and I didn't feel we were getting much value keeping it on one channel. So they offered a 6 months for $24.99 plus taxes. I did the same for my car last month and they gave me the same deal. Also I pre-canceled my service for my car after the 6 month finishes(Feb 2016) since they told me it will cost a full price after the 6 month period finishes. So they offered me another 6 months after that for $24.99 plus tax. So for a year subscription (240 something channels) I was able to get it for $49.98. Is that a good deal or do they offer even better prices? I typically use music streaming from my iPhone since I have unlimited data via Audi connect till January and another 6 GB of data after that. Then I can add the car to my AT&T add device for $10/month. My wife and I share 20 GB data per month so we have enough data. So rather than extending for longer service, I am thinking about stopping and having her use her phone for music.

Any thoughts? Thanks

My 2006 R500 must update its channels each time I drive it; invariably, it updates the channels, comes back on to the Hits channel, and after a few minutes, updates them again. Then it will play for widely varying periods of time before it must update the channels again. It did this yesterday on the outward bound and return leg of a 75 minute trip. Sirius has sent a signal, which actually seemed to lessen the frequency (I've had it happen multiple times in an hour), but didn't eliminate it. I have yet to try the restart trick, but will today.

Pressing and holding the power button my unit turns it off. That's it. No reboot.

Ok so after several years of not having Sirius I got 3 month free trial and no updating issues. Back in 2014 the issue could not be fixed so I dropped Sirius. This is the same car (GLK350) so not sure what has changed. However with all my other music choices I will probably drop Sirius after the trial period.
6-21-21 update: Today when I started the car all I got was "updating channels" and it stayed that way while I was driving for the next hour. I guess the issue remains. Oh well!
