I agree!

I think we can rule out any hardware replacement at this time as well.

I have a sneaky suspicion that after the 6 month trial, it will be fine. Just a crazy thought but I would almost put money on it. Maybe the new command unit has issues with the free "trial" signal cuz so far I've seen posts from GLK, ML, C, and GL owners of 2014s with this identical issue. I also have a 2013 glk at home and never had this issue... Along with the ton of other cars I've owned with either xm or sirius.

You can add a 2014 E550 to the list

I have had mine for 3 weeks and right off the boat same issue. Spoke to MBUSA and said to bring it to dealer next time it happens. I already had at dealer and it wouldn't do it for them . The problem with that is I work during business hours and when it happens it is at night. Let's hope just a software issue on the last few month builds and the figure it out quick.

Have you not read the thread? It's been confirmed already from several dealers and an MB tech that it IS a software issue and that MB is aware. It has an LI number assigned as posted earlier.

It's a conspiracy. My dealer was the one that told me about it, gave me the LI number, and gave the "hold the on button for 10 seconds" command system reboot fix/workaround. I am just in awe that your dealer can't find anything about it. Surely my dealer got it from somewhere. Others have also posted that their dealers contacted MB and that they were aware of the issue. This is just weird.

I can guarantee mine will be fine after the trial is over cause if not fixed it's not renewed. Something I can live without.

Ok so about 10 days ago I had the "updating stations" again and I push in the power button(hold in) and in about 6 seconds the radio turned off. I pushed the power button again and radio rebooted to FM (I guess the default). I tuned Sirius back and it has been OK since that time. I'm wondering if the reboot cleared something out or I'm just lucky so far? I would ask others to try the reboot even if no issues. It may reset the system to work. I have my fingers crossed.

Well, I've had to do the reset trick twice so far over the past couple of weeks. I will say that the updating channels issue seems to be happening less frequently.

It has been a little over a week since I did my reset and so far the issue hasn't reoccurred.

Well I'm sorry to say the issue has returned after about 2 weeks of no issues after the reset. However, the reset does at least get the Sirius back working (until the next time).

It's really random. I can't figure it out as to why I'll get it twice in a day, and then go a week, 2, or even 3 without it popping up. I'm happy that the reset does the trick.

I just happen to notice something today..... When I turned on my truck, it flashed updating channels just for like 3 seconds and then when back to normal... It has never done this (which is how is should be working of course). Usually, when i got the "updating channels" it was forever.

I've noticed that, too, although the updating channels still gets stuck at times. Just less often.

I also see this on and off.

Sorry to say, I jumped the gun. I got the "updating channels" this morning and had to do a reset. Oh well...

I have a 2014 E350 (I have owned it for just over a month) and I am having the same issue. I had it at the dealership today, they were unable to reproduce it and also they are unaware of this problem with 2014's. I may have missed it, but could someone please tell me what LI stands for. I tried to explain to them what I found, but it seems like they are left in the dark regarding this issue.

Not sure what the LI stands for but it is like a technical service bulletin. It only states how to reset the radio if the Sirius gets locked up with "updating". The other way is to stop the vehicle and restart which is a pain.

The way to reset the radio is to hold the Comand power button down for 10+ seconds until the radio reboots.

FWIW, I haven't had the updating channels problem in a few weeks. Interestingly, my free trial to Sirius expired. So I don't know if there is a connection between these two.

2014 SL 550
Same issue

Hi, I have the same problem w/ 2014 SL 550 I've only had a month. The reloading channel thing goes round and around. After I turn off the car and get back in later, it is fine. Seems to happen after I've been listening via Bluetooth to Pandora on my iphone. Not sure why that would be an issue - maybe just a coincidence. But it has happened 3 or 4 times now (and it goes on for 10+ minutes until I get home, so it is not a slow reboot, it is stuck in neutral). I haven't taken to dealer yet, but these posts are helpful in that its not just me. And, to the point that it is a "Sirius problem, not a Mercedes problem" - I beg to differ: I bought the car, including the radio, from Mercedes. That makes it a Mercedes problem to figure out.

Oddly enough, I have not had this problem since we've switched from our Arizona house to our Seattle house for the summer. This doesn't truly make sense to me, because presumably I'm getting a feed off the same satellite (?). We also had MB cancel our 3-month trial to mbrace 2 at about the same time, though I don't know how this would affect Sirius (we're keeping mbrace).

It seems the issue is happening less and less. It may be the fact that it is getting hotter out but who knows. It has now been 2-3 weeks since the last "scanning channels" lockup. However to anyone having this issue please let the dealer know so MB keeps working on it. My guess is there are many more out there that have this issue but are just ignoring it.

Mercedes CLA-250
Not a push button start problem!

I received my 2014 CLA-250 a couple of weeks ago. It does not have a push button start. This is to confirm for more people that it is absolutely a Mercedes problem, and not a Sirius problem. My husband just bought a new VW a couple months ago, and I got a new Mercedes a couple weeks ago. His Sirius has had zero issues, and my Mercedes has given me the dreaded "updating channels" twice now. Mind you, it could've happened more often, but I have a second car I have also been using, lessening the amount of time in the CLA-250. Unfortunately for me, the one time it came on, I was out for a long drive. I had to turn on FM radio because I couldn't stand listening to the channel it got stuck on. I am thankful to hear that Mercedes is aware of this issue, and am also pleased to read about the 10-second power button hold to reset it. I will try this the next time it happens to me. I am taking my car in to the dealer soon for them to replace my screen for my moonroof, as that did not roll correctly when it came in. I will be notifying them of this situation as well. I hope Mercedes comes up with a fix because this just simply should not be.

Yesterday when I turned on the Sat Radio I got a very quick Updating Channels message. It was there and gone in under 1 second and if I hadn't been looking, I would have missed it. Anyone else experience that? I haven't had my car in for service, so if something changed, it had to be on the Sirius side.

Hi, I receive this quite often in my car.

Still every now and then I get the infinite Updating Channels issue. The press and hold on the power button has been helpful.
