And for all those concerned about my wellbeing in the event of an accident, here is my solution.

I decided on the X-Pipe based on this video of a C350.

I will say, I don't think the sound is nearly as loud as it is in this video. From the cabin, I can barely hear much difference except some increased volume at WOT. I had some quad tips to install that I had bought for another car, but they were too wide so I'm going to look for a different set.

sick mods man, nice work!

u get those quad tips installed yet?

also, where did u buy the AMG pedals? are they knockoffs or OEM?

I was used to AMG pedals stock on my w204 so pretty pissed that I have the GLK with AMG package but no pedals!

I think I found a set of tips that will work. For anyone interested, you'd need something no wider than 6.5" and less than 9" total length. The ideal length is 6.5-7" but there is generally a little extra available to trim If you get something up to 9". I will likely go with a set that come in distinct right and left side because they stagger and flow with the bumper a little better that the flush type. Depending on shipping time I'm hoping to have them this week and will post as soon as they are installed.

I think the best part is that you have to ask if they are OE or imitation. They are the fakes off eBay. I paid around $35 and made sure to get the same style and design as the OE. There are several out there that have a different pattern or have the AMG logo but I chose to stay with factory look.

Thanks, I just ordered some running boards off Amazon for a great price $139. Reviews were good so here is hoping.

Bought a set of running boards off Amazon and installed them this weekend. Surprisingly easy as many many other posts point out. A bunch of nuts to remove, but other than that everything pops right off. I like the way they look but they take some getting used to getting in and out of the car.

Also, for anyone interested, the exhaust note has opened up a bit more since I got the X-pipe. It is only slightly louder than stock at normal acceleration, but has a nice tone at WOT. My brother, another car enthusiast and also a mechanic, commented that it sounds similar to a stock G37/370Z. Overall I'm still happy with the decision.

What you've been waiting for...

Alright, got the quad tips installed today and I have to say, "take note Mercedes, this is what the AMG package should come with!"

The tips look fantastic - can you share where you got them? Part number? Also if you don't mind me asking, what did it cost to do the x-pipe and tips in total?

Thanks!

I agree totally... but I'll take it a step further. I think that the AMG appearance package should have included the lower suspension as well.

Thanks, below are the details.

Magnaflow Tru-X 10790 - Bought from Amazon $100 + install was $75 at a local shop.

Tips - http://skspeed.com/polished-stainles...dual-3-outlet/ install was $40 at the same shop that did my X-pipe

Definitely, a lower stiffer suspension would be nice, although I have been surprised at the handling overall. I've considered the HR springs, but I like the way it is riding right now and I'm questioning the sacrifice. I'll need to find someone around me that has the springs installed so I could take a ride and see what I think.

Wow, that is way cheaper than I thought. Any chance you'll be doing an audio recording of your setup? Thanks for the info.

I'll see what I can do this weekend. It is similar to the video posted earlier in this thread. If you are looking for an aggressive tone, you'd have to get sport mufflers and in my opinion for a more aggressive sound, I'd go with those first then decide if you want more since the resonator delete will only make it louder. I do consider replacing the mufflers because I'm used to a more throaty sound, but I am hesitant since I don't want to pay to replace the mufflers and find that I prefer the sound now more.

I just realized that you have a 350... I have a 250 Bluetec... lol. I'm assuming this is not possible with a diesel :P

Good question, I'm not sure about a 250. If you look under the vehicle and see a rectangle box where two exhaust pipes enter and exit somewhere near the middle of the vehicle then you have a resonator. I'm not sure what effect removing would have on a diesel.
