New GLK350 owner.. Tips?

Hi all,
Im a new glk350 owner just waiting to pick it up from the dealer as they are still fixing the command screen due to dead pixels its been a week and i want to pull out whatever hair i have left on my head LOL..

Anyways super excited to get my hands on it.. Any advice on what i should be expecting? I know maintenance is high as i own a bmw so its no biggie. But i also hear the glk is one of the better built Mercedes.

Congrats on the new ride. What year and option packages? That will help people to know what you might need to look out for (if anything at all).

2010, i believe it has everything from auto seats, lumbar support, moon roof, park assist , and nav. Plus i thinkbill get better fuel milage as i was getting 14litres per 100km(city) on a 328 which is trash

I don't know much about the 2010 models unfortunately. They use different engine and transmission than my 2015. I would say, according to what I've read on here, one of the MOST important things you should do is get the service records. The 7G transmission fluid needs to be serviced at 39k miles. Many have had issues if that service was NOT performed on time.

I also have a 328 - but it's newer with the 4 cylinder turbo. It gets waaaay better MPG than my GLK.

I have a 6 cylinder its horrible if i fill my tank i woll get roughly 350-375kms (215-240 miles) on a full tank so im hoping the glk gets more.
I'll call Mercedes and see if they can email me the records, every car i get i always change the fluids , oil and filters within the first week. Although thr dash says setvoce is due in 17k kms

I found that leaving the command system on while car is off will really kill your battery.

95,000 miles on the 2010. Around town I get 17-18 mpg, on the highway 22.5-23.5 mpg @75 to 80 mph. I do the factory service. I've replaced brakes once (Centric hard rotors and ceramic pads), replaced tires once, had to replace valve stems, not sensors. Original battery, and mufflers. Replaced low beam head lights. Once or twice a year the screen does not boot correctly so it is black. Only cure is to turn off the vehicle, remove key, get out and close the doors (the AV is active as soon as the doors open), get a coffee and wait 10 minutes. Come back and everything is copacetic.
Good luck with yours.

I have a 2010 also. It has the premium pkg, and media pkg, and panoramic roof.

I get about 21mpg city driving, my wife 20mpg, highway us around 24 at 75-80mph. Overall thexperience car has quirks but overall a good ride.
Some common failures I have notice is the command dial and intake tube that rips. One high priority maintenance items are transmission fuild.
If you are considering changing out the low beam for HID or LED bulbs am then make sure you read and understand how the retention clip works, it will save you hours and headachs.
