Brake Squeal @ Low Speed
Experiencing high pitched squeal at low speed braking. Doesn't occur when braking at highway speeds. I think it's coming from drivers side. Can't determine if its front or rear. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem with 2010GLK 3 years ago.
It's very annoying every time I have to stop at red lights.
After I replaced brake rotors and pads (aftermarket) and NO squeaking noises from the brakes for 3 years now.
I've just check my brakes couple days ago and they look like it's time to replace them again.

Just be careful what you use. There is brake paste that is used to lubricate the pins on which the pads slide . You don't wnat that on back of pads. There are various brand names, but what you wnat is usually called something like Diskquiet.
Found this article - Popular Mechanics, no less! It more or less says the same thing.
By the way, I have one car that squeaks like yours. Doesn't bother me. But on my wife's car I used the Diskquiet stuff and it worked well - no more squealing.

I had the same darn squeak and enormous amounts of brake dust. OEM brake pads really suck.
I just replaced them with EBC Redstuff ceramic brake pads....its suppose to be 80% less brake dust and feels great. it took me about 2.5 hours to do all 4 corners. So far...so good.

I had the same issue and also replaced everything with aftermarket parts.
No squeak now.
The only good news is the MB parts suck; mine went 24K miles, so you don't have to put up with it for long...

Even dealers can give you car back with squeaky brakes. My daughter had that happen, but they fixed it in 1/2hr and squealing never came back.
I have had squealing when using aftermarket pads. But only because I did not know how to install properly with proper anti-squeal paste and or shims.
Talking about the slow speed squealing in original post.

The OEM brakes on new cars don't squeal. It likely has more to do with how they are installed.

Several trips to the dealer; it would stop for a bit and then come back.
Stopped for good when I did the brake job.
I quit going to a mechanic for saying what you said (do you think my wife and I imagined it?)...

I had a squeal issue with the rear brakes, driver (LH) side, on second try found out it was the Side of the parking brake shoes dragging on the step inside of the rear disk/drum, relieving the side of the parking brake shoes a few thou. fixed it. Could be a drum machining or tolerance issue as not much original clearance.
