How to Improve MPG for 2015 GLK 350???
Hey everyone,
I was curious if anyone has tried using tuners to improve MPG for the GLK350. Looking back, if I could have found a GLK250 Bluetech, I would've held out to get the diesel. Better MPG on the diesel and increased range. I have a K&N, but that is minimal at best. My wife drives about 30 miles to work one way, some stop lights.
Has anyone used any reputable tuners or chips to see a gain?

Ditch the snake oil K&N and use a factory filter.
I have not seen any tuners or chips that say they will improve mileage and I would be extremely sceptical of them anyway. The MB engineers do a damned good job designing these cars and I wouldn't want to risk warranty problems by installing 3rd party junk based on nebulous claims.
If you want good mileage then adjust your driving habits. I regularly get 30-31.5 mpg with light traffic and 80% highway coming in to work and about 24.5 on the way home in heavy traffic. Use a light right foot and keep it at or under the limit. Its not that hard with a little practice.

I get 19 city 28 highway, better than my old 4 Cil Volvo or Camry , your getting great mileage . I think the k&n will cause you trouble one day. That oil will trash the MAP sensor early.

I get an amazing improvement in mileage when I can use the cruise control. It sounds like you have a lot of city driving, well your wife does anyway. Hard to use a cruise control safely on city streets. I find driving habits are a huge piece of the mileage game. Momentum driving anticipating lights and gliding where possible makes a difference. It sounds like it could take the fun out of driving but it becomes second nature quickly - and the brakes last much much longer. I'm over 60K on my replacement original brakes. Having said that, my wife doesn't practice this well and can slice quite a bit off my average mileage in a short hurry.
In short, this car is very sensitive to driving habits. I drive a lot of freeway but I'm averaging 21 mpg with a 3.5 4Matic.

My wife's car has a similar problem (c300). I found the reason for the poor mileage is she sits in it, while it idles, doing make-up, phone calls, and other things. Costs amount to about 3-4 mpg.

Gentle reminder - 300 horsepower V6, weighs over 2 tons, and has the aerodynamic qualities of a brick. Thats why we bought it! I think anything in the 20s for MPGs is great! There are 4 cylinder "SUVs" that don't do any better.
I wouldn't mess with the "tune" for the sake of MPGs. Regulations have made it so that Daimler engineers have done the best they can for that. Thats why the 7G shifts to 7 ASAP.

I could barely get 450 km per tank out of a Kia 4 cyl Sportage even after 3 years compared to a consistent 450-550km per tank on a 6 cyl GLK350. All highway trips I get consistent close to 650km when cruise control is used most of the time. So impressed this baby purrs on the highway...

Because I can say without lying that my 36Ft motor home that has an 11liter diesel, Can go for nearly 2,200Km on a tank of fuel.
It does however have a 750 liter tank. About 8MPG at best on a good day!

As others have stated, it has more to do with driving habits then other factors. I usually get 3-4mpg more then my wife does, i always use cruise control and coast to a stop light. look up hyper mileage if you want to maximize your mileage. I make up for driving like a granny when i drive my fun car and get 10mpg lol.
