There was no mention of a transmission drain and fill. Nor the transfer case or diffs.

The transmissions is likely trashed from running it with water contaminated fluid. The engine vents/openings are a lot higher and less likely to take in water. The transmission vents on the other hand are low enough that in a flood they will allow in lots of water and it doesn't take much to ruin a transmission. You see a lot of this in the Jeep communities where guys go mudding or river fording in their new auto tranny Jeeps before learning that they need to extend their vent lines to keep the water out. Its an expensive lesson.

I think it is going to cost you more to fix this vehicle than if if you had gone out and bought one that did not have a salvage title. Good luck. This vehicle is loaded with electronics that are easily destroyed by water.

Just a reminder - a Mercedes dealer will take anyone's money. So the car has a branded title - it's still a Mercedes!. Take it to a professional. Is the car stolen and if it goes to an actual dealer it will be flagged and the cops will show up? All this back and forth and trial and error (and wasted money associated with it) could be solved by taking the GLK to the place where trained professionals can help you. I promise you - your money will be happily accepted at your local MB dealer. They can tell you if the car is worth fixing, period.
