It came with the best AGM battery made, the alternator charge program is for Agm, you now want something cheap? It figures.

No need to pay attention to Mmr1, he likes to put people down.

Here is a video on how to replace it yourself:

I would check with your dealership to see how much they charge, mine was only $50 more then the alternative so I bought OEM.

If you have a batteries plus near you I would try them also, if you order online and pick up in store they have 10% off promo right now, plus you get $12 core fee back.
The Duracell Ultra AGM battery has a full 48 free replacement warranty and priced right at $200 before any discounts. I got to know my local parts guy and paid about 265 after tax so I went that route, if it was over $300 then I would have went the Duracell route.

A lot of people in the past have posted that they got a good deal by having mercedes roadside assistance replace their battery. While it seems counter-intuitive, the price ended up being less than the dealer wanted for the battery alone.

Twice I got cheap batteries, one lasted 3 months, the second lasted a year. A friend just had the same happen this winter with a "cheap" battery. Cheap, is cheap, poorly made overseas. Those MB batteries really are top quality, just what you need in cold winters, and they last.

You should have said so instead of just putting him down for asking a question, as I have said previously in regards to your post, you have good knowledge and information but the way you choose to communicate your point makes people automatically overlook you.
At one time you were in his shoes, you choose the cheaper battery route and it did not work, that information is valid and contributes to the thread and would help him make a judgement call without sounding condescending.

Guys....
I went to Sears and on the Die Hard battery AGM, got for USD178.00 with taxes. While paying USD20.00 for someone to replace. I`ll be replacing the car next year anyway. Thanks for all the replies guys. Great forum.

Be careful when calling dealer roadside. Not all areas have the same coverage. I do roadside assistance near Chicago, IL. When you call "Mercedes Benz Roadside Assistance" it will get dispatched through a third party provider to me. If you call and say you need a Battery I will be more than happy to bring one out and install it. Here is where it gets tricky. Using aftermarket parts suppliers it is possible to purchase a Non - AGM Battery that will fit. Even has the correct size. The difference being price. Personally I will never replace an AGM battery with a non-AGM battery but I only service a portion of Chicagoland there are many other providers out there. Retail cost on an AGM batteries through aftermarket sources are typically $180-$200(US) in my area. If you think I will come out and install this battery for retail price you dont understand how a business works and shouldn't be driving a Mercedes. Lol. Unless your battery is under a seat I believe a reasonable price through the dealer is $300-$350(US). Not sure what the cost of just purchasing a battery through the dealer would be.

Conclusion, if you want a Mercedes Benz genuine battery, go to the dealer. If you want a good service and a slightly cheaper price(in Chicagoland) but, don't mind aftermarket as long as it is compliant with dealer specs. Call me, I'll come to your door. 😉👍
