ugh what a pain, maybe they got damaged in transit. i would just order new disc set (if you dont feel like making a new free set) and install the new maps. they are like $20. mapmap60 was the seller on ebay, they arrived in a few days. those discs did two GLKs without any hiccups.
I just got together with another poster who bought the disks from Mercedes. I guess it's a concern if they don't sell them anymore, of course. He updated his system and then sold me the disks for $150 and then I sold them for $100 to the next eager owner. There could be better math but everyone ended up winning. They are double layer disks that I tried several times to copy but my writer that should have been able to do it kept throwing up.
Google how to acces engineering menu, then you will find out version of your comand (it will be comand 4, or comand 4.5)...and yes, I upload comand maps from GPS underground....AUX in is exactly in glovedepartement, close to the passenger door..it looks like little black wheel...
I removed the entire glove box to see if i could find anything - a wire going to nothing where i could connect a aux, nothing.
From what i am finding out the 2012 only have aux via media interface?
The wierd thing is that i can choose between aux and media interface as a source on my comand.
How do i find out if i have the ntg4 or ntg4,5 ??
i tried looking in the settings menu on my comand - could not find it (holding #+ hang-up +1)

What is the card slot under the on button for?

It should be ntg 4, ntg 4.5 is online, so if you have online funcions, you have 4.5...mine is ntg 4 and looks exactly like you...the slot is pcmcia, if you buy pcmcia adapter, you can use sdcard in...cost around 20 dollars or less on ebay...
As I suspected, the original seller sent me a corrupt disc 2, I bought a new set from another seller with express shipping and disc 2 updated no problem.
Hi did you just upgdate from v5.0 directly? did you run into any issue on the command system such as FW...etc. I got a Canadian 2011 GLK350 which still running the original v.6 and wanna do a update to the latest v17 and wanna make sure it will be a direct smooth update.

I recently registered on the online update web site. I saw the latest update available
was 2015/16. I was informed the newest update is coming in August. $99.00 to download.
I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight into my situation. I ordered ebay copies and the update was smoother until 97% (on disc 2). I emailed seller who sent me 2 more copies of DVD 2. After multiple tries progress to 99% but keep getting an error message saying the update is not possible. What are the chances all 3 DVDs are faulty?
Model: 2011 GLK 350 - maps never updated until now with attempt to update to 2017.
I got a 2012 GLK 350 and have the Comand system with a 2014 map. I bought a set of 2017 ngt4 update discs from ebay and disc 1 loaded up to about 47% and then got “update not possible” and got the disc ejected. I wrote to the seller who sent me a new set and got the same message. He told mre he would refund my money, but that is not what I am after. I also now have the problem where the nav will no longer work and just keeps trying to activate the nav system. I tried resetting the system, pulled the fuse and reinserted and still no luck. Any suggestions/ideas??

Download or buy older version of maps (2014/2015 should be ok) reinstall and you'll be fine...for newest maps you need comand firmware update, this can be done only with mercedes star diagnostic, so ask the dealer if you want the newest maps to update firmware and then you can install maps...
The exhilarate cable is to the right of the glove box pull off the plastic piece

The Auxiliary cable is hidden it does go through the glove box however the whole you think that is a vent actually is for the Auxiliary cable to get pulled through. Open the passenger side door pull off the triangular piece closest to the vent when you do that you will see the auxiliary cable literally taped to the side take the tape off pull it through the hole in the glove box and you know I have an exhilarate cable that you can pull through the glove box it already has the grommet to cover the hole in it hope this helps.
There is a little wield it turns left tried to open and close but it’s for the air condition glove box no he actually blows through it just called they’re just FYI
