Front Shock absorbers
Hi I have 2013 MB GLK 220cdi 4 matic. I hade my first offroad experience on bumpy roads and realised that front absorbers were not performing well. Front absorbers were "giving in" ie did not absorb properly at all I experience unpleasent hits. I liked to get stiffer absorbers and not loose normal road performance. What do you recommend?

I have the exact same issue... I have been researching this for a while and think Bilstein might have some good options.. Do you also have the issue feeling like the GLK bounces from side to side too much? I can't tell if that is the run flats or the shocks...

I have realized the same problem with winter tires (higer profile) and summer tires (low profile). When having low profile 19" summer tires I also experience that suspension is bit "shaky" and bounces even more. It may require also to tune the actual suspensions springs.

I have both a GLK350 and a GLK250.. The GLK250 I bought used so I have no idea about its history. It has run flats, which I suspect contribute to the poor handling but it is completely different than my GLK350. The GLK350 has Pirelli Scorpions and is incredibly stable even over very rough roads at considerable speed. The GLK250 bounces a couple of times when I back out of my driveway which makes me think the front struts are gone. I am thinking the B6 shocks/struts because they are slightly heavier duty than the OEM ones.

Thanks Ed. I believe I have get the B6 Performance set also since I am planing to drive in rougher conditions now and then.

Learned a bit more
I learned that in my car the suspension has been lowered at the factory some 20mm. I decided
to take the car to the dealer to verify the potential problem and to give a proposal how to tackle the issue.
