Diesel particulte filter clogged

How do you know that it's clogged? The only way to see the soot and Ash values are with the diagnostic equipment. The system performs regenerations while you drive and burns the soot into Ash and you would never know it's doing it

Second recommendation is to try a fuel additive. Apparently they can help the soot burn off at a lower temperature. Never tried these, but worth Googling to get more experience:

Clogged filter advice
I've tried the highway speed solution with limited success. The light does go off and the car goes back to a normal setting after awhile. However a day or two around town and the lights back. I am thinking about the Molly cleaning system. Getting to the NoX sensor to access the inside of the filter does not look to be an easy feat.

If you are in the US and under 80K miles then take it in and let the dealer clean or replace it. The emissions warranty is 8 years/80K miles.

I was counting on the 8 yr emissions warranty and my 7 yr extended warranty to allow us to keep our GLK for a while yet. But I could not find Mercedes Canada equivalent of MBUSA warranty document.

I never seem to have luck. The filter went at 88,000 miles. So i am on my own. I bought a bottle of Lucas Diesel Deep Clean. Tomorrow I'm going on a 100 mile run mostly highway. See if anything improves. I have a sense of the technical issues involved with the dpf. However the dealer was not forthright when the vehicle was initially purchased. I understand wear items such as tires, brakes, etc. When a exhaust filter replacement adds over $1.00 per gallon to the cost of operation there is a responsibility of the manufacturer to disclose the cost. I never would have bought a diesel had i known the hidden costs especially when you can only source the part though Mercedes. I would call this whole adventure dirty pool. We've owned BMW's, (8) Porsche's (2) put on high miles with little to no issues. Mercedes has created a once and done situation. We all make bad decisions, we hate being taken advantage of...

Deleting the DPF isn't an option if you need to pass emissions testing.
The DPF can be cleaned if it is removed. I understand it is fairly common on large diesels and even their smaller Mercedes sprinter kin. If I understand it correctly they pneumatically clean it then bake it for 8-10 hours, then pneumatically clean it again. If you can find an independent shop willing to remove the DPF and take it to a truck center for cleaning then it would still probably be cheaper than the parts and labor for a DPF delete. You should only be down for a few days.

For the years i live in Toronto. There are lots of shop that offer guarantee to pass the emission test. Give kijiji a search, you will see it.

Check with Infernational (Navistar) or other truck repair shops. Most offer DPF cleaning services. Heavy trucks often need DPF cleaning as part of servicing.

DPF clogged at 12k I had to replace it....I had a James Bond smoke screen behind the car, and I had no button to turn it off. The MB USA dealer made me pay quiet a pretty penny to replacet it!!!

DPF is fixed
So, after endless help from this board and abit of leg work on my own i was able to overcome the dredded clogged DP filter. I found a small company that bakes, air blows and aqueous washes the filters for large trucking companies. I had my local mechanic remove the filter from the car. We UPS'd the unit to the people in Pittsburgh, PA for cleaning. With in one day they had the filter cleaned and heading back to me. The mechanic did the reinstall. The filter was cleaned as advertised. The last piece to the puzzle was clearing all the codes in the system. Once done my car runs like new after 1,000 miles of driving. Costs: Mechanic time $265.00. Filter repair $490.00. Shipping $60.00 for a total of $815.00 US dollars. Not cheap, but better than the $2,500.00 the Mercedes had quoted me... Thanks for everyone's help!
