2010 GLK 4Matic
clock vanished
i own a 2010 GLK 4 matic and yesterday after starting my car the screen above the steering wheel started flashing black then normal. After about 3min it displayed as normal. Now the clock display on the screen over the steering wheel doesnt keep time after starting the vehicle. The clock display in the upper left hand of the infotainment screen has disappeared. Anyone else have this issue?

I know this is an old thread but I just joined, found this via search and I have the same problem.
I want to believe it is somehow connected to the auxiliary battery? but I really don't have anything to base it on. If someone has solved this problem I would be interested to hear.

I did manage to find another thread on this. Someone posted that they connected the positive and negative wires for 10 seconds and that cleared the system.
I did that multiple times but unfortunately it did not - I did it to the main battery and the auxiliary battery both individually and together.
I have also replaced the auxiliary battery this morning in the hopes that would correct the problem. It did not, We would occasionally get the auxiliary battery error on cold mornings. For awhile we were putting the battery on a trickle charger overnight but I just decided to replace it today.
At any rate, I'm not further along. I also tried resetting the system from the built in diagnostics and thru my ODBII reader.
So far all I have accomplished is me becoming an expert and setting up my Sirius XM and radio stations.

That’s the first thing I’d look at, low voltage could stop it from booting correctly , have you locked the car and let it sit 10 minutes, that could reboot it. Try it with a AGM charger on it. It may just not be booting properly.

ok, and just to be clear, the process for rebooting the capacitors is to hold the +/- battery cables on the main battery together (without the battery connected of course)?

ok, so here is what I've done to date
new auxiliary battery, tested main battery - car off 12.44V, car running 14.48V
connected +/- cables on both main and auxiliary for 25 minutes (with batteries disconnected)
hooked it back up - still no go
time on my display is greyed out and clock doesn't appear - just a blank screen
time on the dash come up at 1:00pm at startup, sets itself in about 15 seconds , but is about 10 minutes off

so between my post on 1/29 and yesterday, 2/2, the clock reappeared.
I did not do anything intentional to the car so I have no idea when it came back. The only thing electrical that I'm aware of is my wife asked me if I turned on the window locks, which I did not, she turned them off. While I doubt that has anything to do with it, that is the only thing of note we did out of ordinary driving.
Happy its back, frustrated that I have no idea what caused it or what corrected it.
Maybe this is why its so hard to find anyone that has a solution? because it comes back at some point and no one follows up on the actual solution.

Was the vehicle bought used, or transported from Texas area? Do you live in a damp climate? Have the AC or sunroof drains ever clogged and put water in the foot well? Spilled anything in the back seat? This type of problem appears as if a connector has some corrosion. As there are many connections under the passenger seat that are prone to dampness, this could be a recurring problem should the connectors corrode further.
