Extremely Poor Fuel milage
My 2013 GLK 250 Blue Tec has 114000 kms and the fuel consumption is terrible, City is 18 ptrs per 100 kms. Highway it is 11 litres per 100 kms. I take the total Litres pumped and divide it by total kilometres travelled, to arrive at how many litres per 100 kms.
The on board computer is no where near the real fuel consumption that Im getting. I have recently changed the fuel filter and air filter, and no improvement in the fuel consumption, I ready to ditch my diesel guzzling pig Mercedes. Any ideas suggestions that I may have missed, I'm a 70year old who drives like an old lady, ie NOT heavy on the accelerator peddle.

This is very wrong, take it to the dealer with diagnostic tool asap...you can damage very expensive parts driving on this consumption, dpf filter etc...

Thanks for your reply Marek and you insight, I ever thought about the dpf, I thought it would regenerate and clean out, perhaps a lot of city driving stop and go has clogged it,

Regeneration could increase fuel consumption, but I doubt to that extent. It normally takes place while driving at speed, but if DPF starts to get blocked, car goes from passive to active regeneration and purposely burns more fuel.
For first few years, I checked display vs calculated L/100km and they were always quite close. My GLK shows 7.2 L/100 for past 22000km of mixed city/highway driving.
I suppose high fuel consumption could be due to city stop/start driving. Try taking car out on highway for a good run and see if mileage improves. Fill, drive 200km. Fill again. drive back. Fill again.
Maybe pumps are inaccurate at gas station? Or diesel is of poor quality? Try a different station?
I am sure your math is good, but double check the arithmetic Do you use trip recorder or subtract start/finish km? Possible error in display? Or display in miles, not km - that would do it
Anyway, just brainstorming. If all else fails, go to dealer. DPF and catalyst is under warranty still.

Are you in Canada (or Isle of Man? ). In Canada, I would first talk to dealer, then if no luck talk to MBCanada or write them, explaining problem. That is an emissions problem and they should be prepared to fix it. Your numbers are more than double any I have seen on my 2014.

I didn't mean the dpf is regenerating thats why the consumption is high...I ment that if the mixture of fuel and air is incorrect (bad oxygen sensors, bad mass air flow meter etc) it can damage dpf, catalyst etc...It could be also leakage somewhere but you would probably notice this...take it to the dealer definitelly, normal consumption for this vehicle is around 7 - 7.5l per 100 km...

Not sure how it works exactly, but perhaps the turbo is not working properly? Need more fuel to get car to same speed? Blockage in air flow can do same. Checked intake and filter? Using heavier oil also will affect fuel economy. Should be using 0W30 to MB229.52 spec.
