GLK 250 With No Problems?

I know normally folks post here to get insights into problems that they experience. Of course we all know about the dreaded emissions problems as the relate to the AdBlue and NOX sensors.
However I was wondering how many of you folks have had little or no problems with your cars especially emissions?
Personally, I purchased my 2014 GLK250 with 27,000 miles. At 30,000 miles I had a code a code related to a NOX sensor failure that was replaced under warranty which included a firmware update. I do not know what the previous owner experienced. I now have 50,000 miles and have not had any problems of any kind since.

I do not push the car at all and have a 40 mile total commute per day. I live in South Carolina where it is warmer of course.

I just traded my 2014 GLK250. 5yrs old, but only done 50k km. Had no emission system problems. Only problem of any kind, was a vibration when accelerating from a steady speed on highway. Say 100 to 110km/hr. Turned out to be the locking clutch in the torque converter. Repaired under warranty. Most drivers would probably not have noticed this but they replaced entire transmission. But initially mis-diagnosed by dealer as a wheel out of balance.

Well, GLK was 5yrs old. We had the extended warranty and it had one more year to go plus one year for power train. However, the warranty doesn't work that well when in USA (we spend 3 months there) We would have to pay for any repairs at US dealer. Then claim those costs back from MBCanada. So more or less at mercy of US dealers who don't know us. If we had decided to keep the GLK but only use it in Canada, our good relationship with local dealer, and with MBCanada, would, I am sure, have seen us through any warranty issues for some time still. Beyond that, the Bluetec system is hardly a DIY system, and I am used to doing my own repairs. Having said all that, I do miss the GLK I should have kept it and sold the E320.

i bought my 2013 glk250 bluetec in jan 2015 with 70,000 kms on it. initially, i was very happy with it; the feeling didn't last. by jan 2020, i had enough and sold it. over the 5 years that i owned it, it cost me over $18,000.00 in repairs (repairs included sensors, brakes, tires, numerous bluetec related issues). the deciding factor was when i had it in for yet another bluetec issue, shortly after (and $2,000 later) it began jerking when i accelerated, that was the final straw. i ended up leasing a 2020 lexus ux250h and so far, so good.

GLK 250
We bought ours with 49K as a CPO. It's a fully loaded 2014. It now has 122K on the clock. Besides normal wear and tear, such as brakes, tires, and scheduled maintenance, I've had a fuel system issue repaired early on and also permanently dispatched with the AdBlue system with all its issues.

It has taken us across the country to most of our beautiful national parks and back. It was the wife's daily driver to/from work until COVID.

There's no such thing as a car with zero problems. But in our experience, the GLK250 has been reliable. I looked for another, just to have a his and hers, but couldn't find what I wanted. Ended up getting a BMW X3d instead. We have an all-diesel fleet, no issues to report.

glk250 2015 127K miles absolutely no issues, joy to own

I know a couple of people who own these diesels and they all, without exception , give them high marks in repairs, (none) and driving pleasure. Including me.

I really liked my GLK250, but given the problems many had with the emission system, happy I sold it before I had any out of warranty expenses. Most cars can have expensive engine and transmission problems. But the Bluetec cars have three expensive systems - Engine, transmission and emissions. With emission testing having been discontinued here I have heard (even from MB tech rep) that more owners are having tuner shops disable the Bluetec altogether. However, this, although hard to detect by police, is still illegal.

Too bad the GLK250 didn't have a straight forward CDI diesel. I would still have it. Like I do still have my W123 300D

I have had two GLK 250s... The first one did not have the emission fix and never had a problem with over 70k miles... The second one I bought about a year ago with 40k miles already on it. It had the emission fix done and I have driven it pretty hard at altitude (Colorado) and I have had no problems in about 20k miles. First one was a 2014, second is a 2015..

Make sure you are running good diesel... I have been on a couple of roadtrips and filled up with truck stop diesel which was a bad idea. I would say after about 20 minutes on the highway the engine was less responsive... After running a bottle of cleaner with decent diesel everything was back to normal...

2015 GLK250
I have a 2015 GLK250 which has had no major mechanical issues in 82k miles, and has had the Bluetec emissions warranty repair done. I even run B20 biodiesel in it on occasion, and it still runs great. Renewable diesel has been good too.

I recently bought a 2013 250 GLK with 202,000 miles. I have the full service history (always maintained by MB dealer here in Southern CA) which indicates 0 problems. Professional scanner returned only 1 code (no communication with mercedes mother ship) with last code clear/reset done over 7K miles ago. Drives like a dream (touch wood) and is still like new inside and out. Original Mercedes battery will need replacing in a year or two (67% health score). My local Mercedes dealer does not want to sell their adblue liquid to me, so that's a minus on them.

I also have 2013 GLK250 (original owner). Absolutely zero issues with the emissions (only have 45k miles on it though). Literally Honda like reliability other than the torn intercooler hose and original warped rotors. The only thing that I worry about it an emission issue out of the extended AEM warranty

Assuming the emissions don't fail, I could see this car lasting forever

The battery replace is definitely DIY if you have enough strength to lift the battery above your waist. Ad blue tip: buy the small adblue bottle from mercedes with the twist nozzle at the end and cut a hole at the bottom of the bottle so it becomes refillable. Makes refilling so much easier
