Another how to remove center console slider question

Hi all,

I have everything around the slider cover out, including the 10mm bolt at the bottom of the console. I need to remove that whole slider cover section out, but I can't figure it out.

Checked other threads here but they just end at the wood grain surround cover.

Youtube shows GLKs with trans shifters not slider covers

Please help.

Regards

You must remove the center console compartment and center console. You will see either four or two Torx 20 screws. My 2013 had four screws while my 2015 had two.

Oh wow, Ok will go do that,

it kind of looked like that the whole sliding cover assembly itself could slide forward half an inch then I could lift it from the back of the assembly, But I guess not.

Thank you

Hi Again,

I removed the center arm rest, but I still can't remove the sliding door compartment.

I pried the 2 tabs from where the sliding door assembly to the center armrest. Now the backside of the sliding door compartment assembly is loose and moving, but it is still connected to the dash temp controls area. Can I just pull it back towards me? will it just snap off? Is there more screws hidden around the temp controls area that I cannot see?

Also, how do I disconnect the lighter connector?

Regards

Yeah there's two hidden screws under the AC control - only way to access it is removing the entire center console backwards. The connector is a right angle, slip a tool on the edge a pry it out.

I made a quick video today to show the removal of the console ... No edits ... so nothing fancy, but you get the idea ... It was over a year since the last time I had taken it apart and put it back in .. kind of forget how it went ... lol!

bump judging by some ebay parts of the sliding console, you essentially have to remove the dash to remove that piece?!
