How about those have DPF delete with re-program before this SETTLEMENT?
Did they accept to do the emission modefication?
Can some reject such modefication and keep driving?

Of course, you can keep driving with your emission system modified the way you wanted. It's your car you do what you want. You just won't be eligible to receive a settlement, that's all. The requirement is that emission systems CANNOT be modified in any way before the repairs are done and you're eligible for the settlement. So if a dealership sees that you have DPF removed and ECU's recorded to bypass EGR and SCR then they would just deny the emission modification being done.

Just want to report that I had the Adblue remaining starts issue and an intermittent (for a year) CEL that was able to all be fixed under this Field Measure recall. Very happy that this Field Measure covered the annoying recurring issues (CEL) that my GLK250 had. Good on Mercedes for making it easy or maybe I just got lucky. Sorry to hear about those that had to fix CEL's related to the DEF system before this recall was out.

Here is an interesting question. I have my appointment booked for March 9th. I'll have the soft delete reverted back by then. The issue is i also installed an after market DEF heater from xemodex. Do you guys think they want to see the original heater on there. I still have it and it doesn't work properly. I can pay someone to swap it back in (since its too cold in canada to do any work on your own car now). I'm not sure to what level they want to see this car stock.

If the aftermarket heater fits exactly as the OEM did, I would bet they don't look any further to see a MB logo or part # on it. The problem is that you'd never be reimbursed for the repair you did.

As long as the new heater is working and there are no faults stored in the ECU (and you're on the stock programming), I think you'd be fine.

It's not like you removed the heater, disabled the system, removed it from the DEF tank, etc. etc. You fixed a very common failure item (mine is currently dead, need to book a trip to get it repaired under the AEM warranty).

Just got mine all buttoned up and ready to go after two days at the dealer for Field Measure installation. Can't report any changes yet - maybe they'll manifest later?
I can see that most of the exhaust has been replaced. Starting from the behind turbo exhaust outlet and all the way to mufflers has been replaced. So new DPF, NOx sensors, Cat converter. EGT sensor (I think?), one right after turbo has been plugged up, not sure where it was relocated. I've been told about an hour software upgrade has been performed as well.

New DPF

You can see the bolt plug just peeking out behind the airbox a little.

Section of new exhaust pipe

new CAT

Not every Bluetec received the exact same treatment. In large part, they all received at least a new DPF and some sensors, along with the new software.

Some received a TCU update or other transmission service. Some got various components of the AdBlue system replaced. Some required EGR valve and/or cooler peripherals.

I guess it all depends on the dealership, the individual car and its current state before the AEM work.

Update: Received a check today from WND for the full amount. Originally had the AEM performed in mid April and filed the claim online.

For those that haven't yet received their funds, I've been told they're mailed out in batches. Mine must be from this latest batch.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but has anyone asked if they can keep the parts that were taken off?
is that written in the settlement? I will keep reading myself, and if I find something about this I will share

Anyone in Canada get their cheque yet? How long after doing the Recall service did you have to wait?

Curious to know too. Got my field measure done yesterday. Not sure why they did the transmission filter and fluid in the field measure.

I got my field measure done on Friday. Everything seems normal expect for the transmission. the Shift from 1st to 2nd is very jerky and annoying. Seems like most shifts are not as smooth as before. The paper work does say i received a transmission flush. Has anyone had this happen to them. Is this one of the "the car needs to learn my driving" situations or should i contact the dealer?

My experience was similar and I complained loudly. Dealer 200 miles away and by the time I was ready to drive back down there everything normalized. My display on instrument panel changed a bit but everything operates as it should. Couldn't say how long "normalization" required, but normal after 4 or 5 days.

Mine had just been done when I bought it. Shift quality was pretty poor. I had the transmission do a "relearn" and things improved markedly.

Transmission adaptive learn reset procedure:

1. Turn the key to position II (run). Do not start the engine.

2. Press the throttle to the floor. Activate the kickdown switch.

3. Keep the gas pedal pressed for at least 10 seconds.

4. Turn key to OFF, position 0. Don’t remove the key.

5. Release the gas pedal.

6. Wait 2 minutes. During this process, key is left in the ignition in the OFF position.

7. Start the car and drive for 15 minutes.

my number hasn’t come up yet for the modification but perusing this thread has me kind of split. Many say lost mileage and power, many say no difference. Also, my def heater failed about three years ago. I live in Atlanta suburbs so never replaced and never had problems. I do replace def fluid occasionally. just use my oil vacuum tank.
So. As Billy Bob Shakespeare may ask “to modify or not to modify…that is the question. Thanks gents.

No loss of power or mileage here. And that extended warranty sure is nice...

DEF needs to be replenished since it is a consumable item. The AdBlue heater being failed may affect regens when it's close to freezing or below, and you will get a CEL (check engine light).

I would suggest getting it done, collecting the monies and having the peace of mind of an extended warranty for the next 4yrs/48k miles that covers a whole lot.

So here is what I saw and what I'm struggling with
1- The high pressure lines on my DEF system were "clogged" and not covered by the field measure warranty. I was charged 1700 dollars for that. It resolved a nagging CEL. I just don't understand how the DEF system is covered but not the hoses attached to it.
2- After a month the transmission not smoothing out. I took it back so it would get reset. Seems better now. ****ting from D2 to D1 seems a bit rough still
3- passenger side blind spot sensor is acting super funny. It would go red on higher than normal curbs and open spaces. I didn't think it was related but it was peculiar that it started to happen after the field measure. The dealership replaced all 4 sensors. It didn't go away. Now I'm thinking maybe the new program they put in my car was no good.

As an FYI; Got my AEM, 2013 GLK 250 Handed keys and drove off. Shifted poor, and the D is no D1 D2 D3... D7 (manual shifting is still 1, 2, 3 etc)
Called the dealer and they said it was part of the programming. and the parts change.
The shifting has gotten better, probably adaptive, and from research here etc it seems the display of individual gear it is in is common to newer MB.
Wondering why they changed the trans valve body.. still wondering but it is probably a more computer controlled version
The repair procedure for the AEM showed if you had a 14 or 15 there is no trans work
If you have a 2013 it gets the transmission parts: Valve body, different filter possibly and a new fill pipe different than want comes in the service kit it said. and 10 quarts of oil.
Like others have said, sucks to have just changed trans oil 25K ago, and what insidious reason do they have for changing the trans parts.
This is the 2013 procedure https://mb.oemdtc.com/1212/bluetec-u...es-benz-glk250

As a 2013 owner, I wondered about this too. But didn't question it as it was a "free transmission oil change"

Right, What did they do to the shift points, or is it to tell the emissions side of the computer to regen only if in high gear or something "innocent"
My only issue is I trust my specialist mechanic more than the dealers' to mess with the trans fluid, but I agree free oil and I was getting a P2002 code and probably needed a DPF anyway.
I should have held off on my EGT pre turbo sensor, they are sort of mentioned in some literature but I was afraid bringing it in with the code and paying 500 for a 200 fix.
Hoping fuel economy and DEF consumption reasonable. Never got over 35 highway before AEM

You need an attorney to recoup that $1700.

This is an update on my adventures. I finally received my check for the full amount, last week, not without a few hiccups.

After others received theirs earlier this year I heard nothing. In April I received a Release to sign. Immediately signed and returned it. Tail end of June I had received nothing, no money, not "go to hell," nothing. I wrote and received generic letter that claims were being processed. I objected since requesting Release indicates approval and check should be issued. They responded "in due course" that the claim was being processed. A month later I received the check. Either those lawyers and the administration of this matter are incompetent, all screwed up, or they purposely delayed payment in order to hold on to the funds for the interest they accrue, until the last possible minute.

Through all this I received another recall for that intercooler hose to be changed. Took it in again, 220 miles away, and they did a whole bunch of work in connection with that. Lots of parts changed. I've seen no effect on driveability, fuel mileage, or anything else. Difference only is that in the transmission display I see a few gears without the "D" in the display, usually when downshifting using the paddles. Little difference in fuel mileage. Better if anything. Freeway and no traffic, speeds "a bit over the speed limit", and I'm getting right at 40 mpg! I'm quite happy!

I dont remember seeing a "recall" for the intercooler hose, lots of failing but not an official recall.
