Speaking of letters, one arrived for us as well.

It's the official notice from MB that the AEM has been performed on our GLK250 and now is covered by their extended warranty. It was a one-pager (just the back, actually) that they recommend be kept with the service and maintenance booklet, in the glovebox.

No mention of reimbursement yet, but that can't be far off now.

I also got my notification letter for additional warranty coverage. Good to know I'm at least in the system. I'm guessing they're paying out prior owner claims first, then they'll be distributing the rest.

Informed delivery shows yet another envelope from JND Legal arriving today, 3 days after I received the extended warranty notice. Might this be the check?

Received warranty extension letter on 11.29 from JND and 2nd letter today according to informed delivery 12/4. I don’t think it’s the check, duplication of 1st letter. Could be wrong..
On the 28th of October was told we were in the first batch of original owners- batch size is 35k. Benz reviews each claim before authorizing JND to send check. Receiving the warranty extension means MB approved.
Had AEM completed 4th of May.

They are really dragging their feet on payment. I wonder what they are legally required to do.

I have heard of people getting the lower amounts (a person that used to own, or lease, but not a current owner)

Its possible (Manufacturer - MB) paid the fines and settlement... its now in hands of the lawfirm and accountants to send out.. I doubt they are in any hurry to spend the cash making bank interest in the accounts.

I have seen it so many times.. lets say you have a 1 million dollar fine.. you put 1 million in an account to satisfy the "fine" take a year or more to "payout" and hell you reduced your actual cash out , by less then interest earned. ( dont beat me up on this and such) it is what it is.. <- this is a very simple example, and def they have other means to rack up higher interest rates on there money. So a couple hundred million/billion would make a ton everyday it sits, and after the 2,3 years for payout, hell they could have made most of it back. ....

The administrator approved by the court submitted a plan on how the ownership classes would be handled. They and the attorneys received approval by the court for their fees. They do not make interest off of the funds set aside by Mercedes’ for the settlement.
All I know is the administrator is challenging at best to get any information from.
Mercedes does want customers taken care of and they did set money aside to do just that and it doesn’t mean waiting till October of 2022.
The courts have back logs and following up on these administrators isn’t looked into unless there is a complaint. The FTC also gets involved from a consumer regulations oversight.
If someone in Western US gets their check it would good to know.

We have two claims (one for our GLK, one for our Sprinter) that were submitted and completed (emissions adjustment done) over six months ago. We've confirmed that the MB settlement folks have both vehicles in their system. I really wonder what is holding up our checks. I too am thinking of an FTC intervention.

yea some people are at the door waiting to pull the life support plug to collect that life insurance money as quickly as they can....
I get amazed sometimes about how people feel what they are owed/due etc.. and then add the entitlement element to it.

The checks will show up when they show up.. pretty much..

Seattle - JND legal administration called today 23rd an left a voicemail, our claim check has been mailed on 12/22.
Yes $3k does matter, no I don’t feel entitled, no I am not a PITA. There has been some odd comments today on this forum and some actually projecting animosity.

Exactly. And I just don’t want to think about it forever. Other manufacturers have paid out for this issue MUCH quicker. Thanks for saying it.

yes 3k is good money, but some people
act like they are missing it or it got stolen/taken , this is/was basically a SUPRISE , so although many want/need/could use it , doesnt mean its demanded.

All repairs were covered , the “issue”
was not one that caused vehicles to NOT drive or anything so it is what it is.

at least thats IMO

I never said that.. but lets be REAL.. you didnt suffer a loss from the event, your only getting a gain.. so say it as it is...
(they covered the FIX) as well extended warranties, etc etc etc..)

So dont come out like say. you lost this and that, and it caused you so much grief etc etc , its simple, you want/need the money due to all events etc etc..
(its ok to say that, and you'll get it) but dont act like you EARNED it.. because then you start to sound like your entitled ...
(you didnt have to do any work, or such to get this payout)

I have 3 of the vehicles that are effected , included, etc.. no once did I have an issue with my cars/trucks , they sent me letter to get the updates done (part of participation in the recovery) PERIOD.
No loss to me, so any funds I would get, are a BONUS and OK...
