Got my check in the mail today for $2711.
Good timing, too - I cracked an intercooler hose on vacation, so I had to pick one up from the dealership this morning. Couldn't go an hour without giving some of it back to MB...

Belated Christmas Present
Just received a check for $3515 for my 2015 GLK . I submitted the paperwork in June 2021. Still waiting for the funds for the 2014 that we bought used.

I'm out of town so I asked the USPS to hold my mail until we get back. Hopefully I find a check waiting.
Glad to hear folks are receiving their funds! Will report back.

I was on a business trip but came home to my check (came at the end of December). Like most, I got a $3515. I have 90-days to cash it (dated Dec 22, 2021).
I wonder... are we getting anything else from Bosch or is this it?
I also had my NOx Sensors replaced two years ago at 53k. I wonder if I can get them to reimburse me for that? They previously had 8k on them. Has anyone called MB on previous repairs that would be now covered under warranty?

Gotta install some "Field Measure" (whatever it is)before one can file a claim and get a check.

Hi All, Just following up to see if anyone tried to get the recall done with the soft DPF/SCR delete active (no physical equipment removed - just software change). I'm still not sure if i should get my car reverted back to factory settings before going in. I don't have a problem doing that. Its just a few hundred dollars I'd rather avoid spending.

(a) an Eligible Vehicle has been altered with the use of any after- market emissions-related components, parts, and/or software, and such alteration(s) are likely to substantially affect the operation of the vehicle with the Field Measure, until the owner of such vehicle, at his or her expense, has reversed the alteration(s) such that the Field Measure will not be substantially affected;

This is from the proposed Canadian Settlement agreement dated December 7th. My mechanic stated they would revert back to the stock software if it was a soft delete but im not sure about that after reading this above. I read that the Field measure device is available for my car from the MB website. However, it says that the court approval of the settlement is on February 9th. Im also looking to see if others in the US have gone to the dealership with the software delete only and had the AEM recall performed. Currently also debating how to revert back to stock.

I spoke to the tuner that did my car and he said he would revert me back for Free. that was nice of him. He also said that if i need the delete again he would charge me which is understandable. I guess we'll wait and see if i'll do it in 4 years once the warranty is done and if i still have the car. My check engine light is currently on for the diesel particulate filter being clogged. I know as soon as i revert back i'll get the 10 start remaining. I just have to time my recall and the reverting back perfectly so i'm not left stranded somewhere.

What you need to do is schedule your appointment for the AEM work and then drive the car straight there after reverting back to stock.
The CEL may not come on right away, since the new software being put on (your original) will run the emissions cycle, or try to, while you're driving.
As long as the software checks out and you didn't drop it off with a CEL (make sure that's documented), they should perform the AEM and get your car back to you in good working order.

I got another email from the Bluetecsettlement.ca which talks a little more about what will be replaced:
Your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will install the Field Measure that updates the emission control system software on your vehicle and involves the exchange of certain components such as the NOx sensors, SCR catalyst, diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter, particulate matter sensor, conversion of the oxygen sensor to a plug, and for certain vehicles the hydraulic control unit of the transmission.
You should not notice any adverse changes in vehicle reliability, durability, performance, drivability, or other driving characteristics. Some drivers may notice improved fuel economy. The Field Measure is not expected to change the frequency with which you need to refill your DEF (also known as AdBlue®) tank. If your previous refill rate coincided with your oil change interval, that should not change with this modification. However, under certain conditions, your vehicle may use more DEF as compared to prior usage. The exact amount of the change will vary depending on driving style and profile, as well as other factors.

As a Canadian, received an email from blutec settlement on Friday. Booking in for 2 weeks from
now. Can I assume that I should a loaner for this recap service? Seems like it should be included for something like this, but my local dealship saying no loaners available…

I have the dreaded Ad Blue 10 Starts Remaining Message and a CEL light go on. CEL is intermittent, comes on and off, may be related to the soot sensor. Refilling Ad Blue DEF Fluid has not solved the issue. I will need to take into dealer before I am out of starts and will need a tow. I am booked in for this Settlement Service (Field Measure Install) in Canada. I am wondering if this Field Measure service is going to replace parts that may need to be replaced anyways during my Ad Blue Starts Remaining Issue Service. Are the parts at all related? They seem to all be connected to the emissions system, so it seems reasonable that the work may overlap. Would hate to fix my Ad Blue issue and then have all those fixes swapped out for this recall later down the line. Thoughts?
