722.96 Transmission Communication
2015 MB GLK350 with 722.96 Transmission occasionally get warning message “service needed, do not change gears, see dealer” then messages goes away and all is good. No check engine light. Usually occurs when initially starting engine but it always. Have scanned and here is list of codes. Appears to be communication problem. Any help appreciated.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Could be a loose wire or connection, or some internal fault in the TCU.
Or weak battery, who knows? How is the shifting otherwise? Has the fluid & filter ever been changed?

Update:
Took GLK350 to dealer today. cleared codes and reset computers (?) but could not find problem. Service tech said to just drive it and see if the warning comes back. Said they did not do indepth check as "I was waiting". Went to crank the car and warning flashed again. So another appointment to do "indepth" analysis. and another $170.

... with that many communication codes, it's either a battery or oxidized ground points. If it's 2015 - most likely the original battery. I'd get that replaced sooner rather than later. I haven't had exact same issue with my 2015 GLK just yet but the OEM Varta battery is stamped 11/12 so 10 years almost.
My 2001 SLK gave me about the same laundry list of codes after one particularly cold morning start. Tested the battery and it was showing 12.1V without any load just on its own. Charged battery, cleared codes, drove for a week - not a single code came back but kept an eye on battery voltage. Also did a load test and yes - it's time to replace it. If these cars were sensitive 20 years ago they'd be even more so now.
