Keyfob wont unlock... sometimes

Keyfob wont unlock... sometimes
Hello all, great forum have learned a lot of DIY from here so thank you.
Now my keyfob wont work if the car has been sitting for over 7 hours. None of the buttons will work, besides using the physical key to get in if i try to open the truck then i can unlock the car.
Or when i use the physical key to get it, then the keyfob starts to work again.
Yes my keyfob will work only after opening the truck. I have changed the keyfob battery to no avail.
The battery doesnt drain or anything.
The keyfob just stops communicating.
Would it be a keyfob programming issue? or would i need the security system diagnosed?
i was thinking of just getting an aftermarket alarm to unlock the vehicle.

If voltage is below 12.3-12.4 it could be the battery . A 12v battery is actually near dead at 12v. Your alternator charges them when running to 13.25-13.6 or so. A corroded connection or bad ground could be contributing. If it’s weak get it load tested, any auto store does it free, so they can sell you a battery!

The battery is at 12.3 volts after unlocking it from the truck. I suspect it may be a lower voltage prior to unlocking. I will see after sitting over night.
the battery is a Bosch agm battery, not sure how old it is at least 30 months old by now

Thats ok, since it turns over the motor it is. I have no idea, maybe corrosion on the key fob battery terminals . A new fob key might help. There are a few other groups in mb world that know more than me , I’m just guessing.

Agreed: if the battery can start the engine then it's not the problem.
Do you have another fob? Does it act the same way?
When you say "my keyfob will work only after opening the truck" do you mean "trunk" (tailgate)? If so, do you open it with the fob or the key?
Does anything happen if you press the "lock" button first?
Does your car have an auxiliary battery? Is it in good condition? I'm wondering if the car looses track of the current rolling code after 7 hours.
