Parking Sensors

Anyone knows how to troubleshooting parking sensors for 2011 GLK 350?
My rear parking sensors stopped working for few years already (put in Reverse, beep sounds and all red on indicator). I wasn't too concerned about it as there is backup camera there.
For some reasons, while I was slowing down for the red light, my front indicator flashed all red and beep sound. I was pretty sure nothing were there. Then I noticed the Parking Sensor switch on dashboard turned off automatically.
I turned on Parking Sensor and it happened again when I stop (beep sound, red indicator lights, Parking Sensor switch turned off).
Is it fault on any sensor or the control module?

Thank you~~

Sensors and wire are exposed to weather , at 11 years I’d look there. The computer would likely have other failures if it was the computer. You don’t need overpriced mb sensors to make it work.

Thank you. That's true.
Just want to see if there is anyway to get it fixed without spending too much. I guess I just need to live without front parking sensors.

Try replacing a few, it should not be hard or expensive

Scan the vehicle, it will tell you which sensor is causing the issue, PARKTRONIC likes to shut down the whole system if there is a faulty sensor hence the beep and two red dots you experienced, it is possible not all of them needs to be replaced for that reason.

Mine has no audible alarm in reverse, only the lights on the headliner. Is this normal?

Any insights on how to access and reset a front sensor that has been pushed into the bumper and floating?

Thanks, I'll try to get it scanned and see if it helps

My front parking sensor was solved by itself two days ago........
I drove my GLK two days ago and saw the front sensor indicators were lighted up normally in orange again in low speed. While driving, I saw the parking sensor OFF switch light was ON/OFF intermittently by itself (I didn't touch it but you can see it turned ON/OFF) then switch light off (parking sensor ON, normal).
It's been two days and didn't make any issues for the front sensors (rear sensors are still not working as usual, but not a concern).
I scanned and didn't see any code.
Thank you for all your help for now

Sounds like a bad (intermittent) connection. Perhaps see if you can see the wires from them and where they plug into the wiring harness connector. My guess is water got into the connectors and caused corrosion. Might be able to clean it.

Anyone have tips on where to find the connectors?
