No dip stick, just orange handled cap?

No dip stick, just orange handled cap?
My wifes 2010 GLK 350 has no oil dip stick but there is a tube and a small orange cap thing on top. Located at back of engine compartment RH/passenger side. Is this normal and can someone tell me where I can get correct dip stick for this year? I have engine sludge and need to monitor oil level. Thx

yes I saw that already and that is the location I am talking about but I only have this small dip stick cap shown in link and no normal dip stick.

Hmmm, that is strange, do you mind taking a picture of it, and can you see if there is a part number on it (the cap), I am worried (although highly unlikely) that the dip stick part itself broke inside (but like I said most likely not).

There's a possibility a previous owner had damage to the original dipstick, so put that cap on.
However, Mercedes has put that cap on various vehicles ... but it's a mystery "why" they did that, vs a dipstick.

Check the link in Post #3 ... the OP provided that link to show what the cap is. It's red, which is the norm for that ... whereas, a typical MB dipstick cap is greenish blue (most esp for recent model years)
