The drivers side wiper parks below the lip of the hood, completely out of sight, at least from the driver's seat. The passenger's side wiper arm and wiper tip are peaking up above, in sight. My OCD wants to take the passenger's arm off and reposition it a few degrees farther down. First, is my setup normal? Second, is there an adjustment to the linkage, or can I move the arm on the spindle, or do I have to get over it?

(This is not new; it's been like this since I got the car.)

Yours does look rather high on the passenger side. Mine weren’t even and I moved it down one notch. That turned out to park too low so I returned it to the original position. You can try to move it. It won’t break it.

Both your wipers look higher in the parked position on your ‘14 than our ‘15. But I noticed that your ‘14 has the old style wiper arms. The ‘15 had the newer style wipers that were slimmer and on different arms. The ‘15 was easy to move and readjust by popping off the cover, removing the nut and repositioning the arm on the splined shaft. In all my years of owning MBs, I’ve never had a reason to remove the old style arms, so yours might be different.

Who ... me ?

Never had a reason to troubleshoot the wipers - they work as designed and when sitting in the front seat, they are not visible.

I was just offering what ours looks like - no issues here.

However, I do notice now that the passenger side looks a bit higher ... thanks for pointing it out

Calder-cay: your outside picture looks a lot like how I remember mine, but your inside picture is different: you don't see either one.

Old Piggy: my 2014 was made about a week after they updated the arms. I found that out the hard way...

Do I need a puller to move the arm? I found some alignment marks in the WIS, but I can't see them with the windshield dripping wet, so I don't even know where I stand. It's supposed to rain for about another 38 days, I think...

Since both of you (calder-cay & JohnCC) have ‘14s, I (incorrectly) assumed you had the same issue. I should have known that the German manufacturers change things mid-model year because I’ve had them since the late 70s.

My ‘15 had the black appearance edge around the window and the tip of the right side wiper could be seen above it. That couldn’t possibly be correct, right?

I tried to move it down and wound up with it parking too low. Frustrated, I put it back and left it in the original position.

I have a puller, but don’t think I needed it. But the car was probably only 6 months old. I didn’t even think to look for alignment marks.

Mine and Calder-cay's are different. There was break in the weather today and I was able to get a good look at it. The marks referred to in WIS aren't there. As far as I can tell, the blades look to be in about the same position as the pictures. WIS refers to a puller, so I'm reluctant to try to adjust it without one.

I’m not sure if those marks are permanent or they are stick ons that come off over time. My C250 has the factory windshield because it’s never been changed. But the marks the WIS refers to are not there. Don’t have the GLK anymore to check, (died an untimely death)

but it went through a few windshields.
The Mercedes arm puller is a very specific little device, but any small 2 arm puller should work.

So, I was curious about this, so grabbed my bright flashlight, cleaned the small section of windshield on passenger side ... couldn't find a reference mark , except for the MB emblem and a round yellow sticker on the wiper end (driver's side wiper has the yellow sticker too).

The marks for the early blades are almost invisible: about the size of a dot made with a pencil. The passenger's blade aligns with the dot, and it is about even with the split between hood and pillar.

The yellow dot on the blade itself is a UV detector. It starts out white, and when it turns bright yellow you're supposed to replace the blade. Valeo blades have them, too, and I suspect they are the OEM.

I have a battery terminal puller that should work, but it is at a different location. However, it sounds like I have a choice between where it is now or too far down...

Thanks for the yellow dot explanation. We bought the GLK back in 2018 with about 32k miles - now at 87k, and have never changed the blades - still wipes the windshield clean and streak-free.

Good luck on the adjustment...
