Just picked up my GLK 350 today and have a style is like to nail, so coming to the pros. Any idea what the max wheel/tire combo is possible for these cars without a lift? Looking for something like this but want to avoid rubbing. The site I saw this on stated owners could potentially go up to 235/65R17 and kind of implied that's what these were, but these look much larger and kind of appears lowered.

That GLK has the lift and 255/55/18s on it. I did a nerd dive into all of these online pics a while ago. Do the lift, you’ll love it. Here’s my post showing my lift and all the specs, when you scroll down. https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...-question.html

Cheese and rice, just the response I was looking for. Out of curiosity, I'm not saying you're wrong, but how do you know this 350 has a lift and 255/55/18s? Just eyeballing it or did you actually track this specific one down in the past lol? Because when I see this it looks like it's been lowered, but then again I'm new to these so I don't have a good eye for it just yet.
I have 235/65/17 on my RWD GLK with no lift. The tire shop accidentally put 245/65/17 on at first and those rubbed really bad when turning.
That's interesting. Typically 2wd vehicles ride a bit lower than the awd vehicles, I'd assume at factory specs they ride a bit smaller. Something I need to look into.

Those 245/65/17 tires are only about 0.5" taller than mine (255/50/19) but they're also 10mm (0.4") narrower. That is to say that rubbing isn't just about tire width, but about the wheel's offset, and to a smaller degree, the effect of rim width on the sidewall. That's why there are so many threads about trying to figure out what will (and won't) fit on a given car. In my case, the tires are approaching the maximum size that'll fit comfortably, but I also use spacers to put them right where they should be relative to the fender lip (moving them away from the strut, and reducing the opportunity for them to rub at full lock).

I found it https://rdbase.jp/18482/
They are 17's 245/65 Can zoom in on the pic and see for sure.
Now, what I really want to know is, what model rim is that?
I love the round hole style for an off-road look.
99% of rims are spoked style and just don't cover the rotor enough for my taste.
I even contemplated steel rims like spare tires use because I think they look better.
Not into the pavement princess look.
I don't hate these, and they won't break the bank.
MOTEGI MR141
17x7.5 5x112 ET40 with 66.6CB fitment
Only a 40mm offset, and I'd like to push the tires out far as possible, but hard to find a 17x7.5 5x112 +35
So much, so I ponder if that one rdbase did is running 7" wide rims, but I'm not sure if that would cause a problem.
That half inch really cuts down on options.
Maybe that one is lifted if the 245's it has on don't rub.
FWIW, the 255s on my 2011 are really pretty tight up front, but there's lots of spare room in the back (not close to rubbing anywhere). If you're going to run tires that wide, you do have to do some work to make sure that you get the offset (mainly) correct. I ended up needing 15mm spacers up front and 20mm in the back, mainly because the rims I am using have 14mm less offset.

Good to know. Think I'll be sticking with 235/65/17. I just want the comfortable ride and off-road look at the wheels. Not even sure I'll lift it but for 200 bucks and being in there changing struts.. Really hard to find a rim that's not spoke style.
767 – PANGEA, in black, look off-roady, and not so spokey. Good caliper coverage.
18x8 5x112 +35
Will they fit?
I know MB says 8.5 for anything over 17", but less shouldn't interfere, right?
Feel like they'd wear a pair of 235/60s with an even fatter bulge and look sweet.
I bought the strut set and lift fit, just about finding wheels now.
Sorry if I'm thread jacking, I just figure better to keep it in one thread like this.
EDIT: How important is hub bore? They're 73.1 not 66.6...

The stock wheels on my GLK are 8.5", with a +45mm offset.
That means the 8" wheels with +35mm offset will move the INSIDE of the wheel out a little further. The offset moves the wheel out 10mm, but being 12.7mm narrower the outside lip of the rim should be very close to the stock rim placement (actually 2.7mm further in).
FWIW, I believe most of the newer GLA/B/C/E wheels have more positive offset (moving the wheel IN from the fender lip, requiring a spacer in many cases, including mine).
Does anyone know what these rims are? who makes them size etc?

They are from Black Rhino Wheels, but I can't find the specific one. Reach out to them, or maybe try this guy who originally posted the pictures: https://www.instagram.com/hirotaka_kanemoto/
I am looking at getting 17x8.5. I dont see an option for an 8.5 width 17 inch wheel. There is an option for a 19 and 20 inch wheel at an 8.5 but not a 17. Whats the downside to using a 17x8.5 and any thoughts on what the offset needs to be?
