New GLK Pics

Just traded for a black on black. Had an 02 ML500, sold it and bough a 05 C240 4matic. This car is the perfect mix of the two.

Looks very sharp, indeed. As a good friend says, enjoy in good health.

BTW, if you have young kids, are they OK to get in and out without the running boards?

oknish -- took out three year old to the dealership to see GLK and it was clear he would need the boards to get in and out without either killing himself or scraping the crap out of the car sides....

So we got the boards.

Finally, my wait is over! Took delivery after dark today but did manage to snap a quick pic while it was still in the showroom and clean. An hour later I had it covered in road salt!

I'm happy to report I have the folding mirrors while several GLKs sitting at the dealership didn't. But I didn't score the bright roof rails. Oh well, 1 out of 2 isn't bad. Also worth noting, it has 6.0GB of music storage not 4.0GB as noted on ww.MB.ca I've ripped about 100 songs to the music register and that took roughly 0.5 GB.

I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and now have to figure out whether I care more about them or my cleaners bill

For sure those GLK running boards are positioned perfectly to soil a clean pair of pants, as one of the reviews mentioned.

I'm 5'10" and thought I would be able to get out without having my leg rub against the running boards. I was wrong. So far my pants are keeping a real nice shine on those running boards. Which is great for the running boards. Not so great for the pants! lol

Looks great. Thanks for the photos. Also appreciate feedback on running boards. Dark colours seem very popular.

Every published review on the GLK that I have read and that has made comments on the running boards suggests that this option be deleted for the same reason that you have made clear above. The only way to avoid scuffing your pants is to step on the boards when getting in or out every single time. That could be a real pain.

I imagine the pain will in your head. As you bang it on the roof while getting in or out

Those running boards have to get a new design.

Congrats on your new ride !

Does your GLK have the Bi-zenon package ? If so, did it come with LED tail lamps or the regular type incandescent ?

For the new GLK owners, does the GLK have a "child lock" on the rear doors?
