2017 GLS Order Status

Hey guys, just joined. Placed an order in December for a 2017 GLS350, excited to own my first Mercedes.

Anyone else have one on order? Interested to know if anyone has received guidance on when they'll be arriving. My dealer tells me that we'll have more details on production schedule mid-January.

(re-post, i accidentally posted in the GL thread earlier)

Welcome Clay. I also have a GLS on pre-order. The orders cannot be confirmed until pricing is released which may not happen until next month. Your dealer will likely call you to confirm your or finalize your order once MB starts scheduling the pre-orders for manufacturing.

I currently own a 2014 GL550 and it is one of the most satisfying vehicles I've ever owned. I traded a 2011 Lexus LX570 on the GL and have never regretted that decision. I'm sure you will love your new GLS when it arrives.

Tell us what you ordered.

You might look at the threads about the headrest issue and car-seats when opting for the EASY-ENTRY option. There are likely some older threads on the GL forum. This may not be a good option for you with two small children.

A gaggle of MB's
On the EZ-Entry and headrest conversation - I suggest you look/check the 2016 GLS EZ-Entry headrest - which is now kindof "spring loaded" - with head on the rest it leans back - then springs forward (w/o head) for lowering... expect same style 2016 2nd row headrest in 2017's... FYI...

Has to be a change on the 2016 GL. No easy-entry on the GLE (no 3rd row to get into).

Many option is stander on the Canadian side, like Magic vision, LED head lamps and heated/cool cup holder. Not sure if it's the Canadian dollar so low they need to add more stuff in to drive the price up. Night pacakge is not offer on our side except for 63.

Hey Joe. Question for you.

Premium 1, Lighting Package (which includes LED dynamic), parking assist/park tonic are all standard on the 550 right?

Good to hear. Brief panic when I saw your order thinking I might be in trouble for not having specified those options (thinking at the time they were standard).

Does this resolve the issues with car seats? Planning on stopping by the dealership next week to take a look at a 2016 and check with a car seat.

Thanks guys!

You should hear from your dealer when pricing is available to confirm your order.

Anyone ordering a GLS350 should consider including the trailer hitch. Phenomenal tow vehicle. We pulled a 28 ft Airstream International over 30,000 miles with ours.

It would because spring-loading the headrest would allow it to be pushed back or out of the way of a child-safety seat. Before this change the headrest were pinned into the out position and a child-safety seat could not be positioned properly because the headrest was in the way. Also, the headrest would be in the way for smaller children sitting in the seat.

You should still check it out as you suggested to be sure you are ok with the fix.

Heard from dealer that my production date is mid to late April. Wonder how long it will take to get to the dealership once it's ready...

4-8 weeks later depending on where in the US you are. Boy, I guess I can expect mine to come in in June sometime... GLS350 ordered in late Nov.
