Mercedes Logo Projector

Does anyone know how to shut off the logo projector that projects on ground from the rear view mirror? Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. I like seeing the logo at night. I would never black them out with a sharpie.

You can't shut it off on the GLE, at least. A dab of Vaseline of lip balm on the projection lamp will turn it into a normal puddle light.

Actually - in center/COMAND screen - go to Vehicle Settings - and turn off "Locator Lighting" which will turn off the projector lamps.

Alternatively - using your headlight dash control - turning from Auto to Off before exiting the car will also turn off the Locator/projectors - but means you need to manually turn that headlight switch back to Auto when restarting the car.

Thanks but locator lighting didn't turn it off.

Piece of electrical tape? That's weird MB doesn't let you turn it off..there must be a way.

I can turn it off in my GLE using the Locator Lights menu but I'm in Canada. Perhaps the dealer will know?

Yes, ask the dealer to code it off, or do some other work around. I do think it's a cool feature and the kids love it.

Locator lighting option turns it off. Mine was off when I took the delivery. I turned it on later.

Make sure the Locator Lighting is set to on, while the engine is running, then turn your light switch from the Auto position .... to the right. It seems that the Logo comes on when the engine is running, the light switch is set to Auto, and the Locator Lighting is set to on. When you change the Light switch from Auto, and turn to the right, then turn the engine off,.. the Logo is turned off. This worked for me when I tried it...

Despite that I have not disabled it since I do appreciate the illumination it provides. BTW You mean the side mirrors? I have never noticed one insude the cabin.

As I suspected its the puddle light. The OEM is less gaudy than the one shown there (its only a star) but still, a badge w&$re item that Id rather not have as standard equipment. My wife simply hates it too (its her car). I've considered the tape solution, but I like the illumination.

I think you can go into the menu under convenience options, you can turn off the lights. But it may also not turn on your headlights when you unlock your doors. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
