3rd Row Window Mystery
Some 2017 GLS models have a button on the driver's side door to open the rear 3rd row quarter windows, and some do not. I recall it used to be a special order item, but it is not in the dealer ordering guide, nor on the MB website, nor is it even printed on the window stickers of the vehicles that have it. I have seen YouTube reviews of the car where some have the button, and others do not, but it does not seem like it is spec'd or even accounted for. I get the feeling that it might just come with another package (one person said in another thread it might automatically come with your GLS if you have the Panoramic roof, that thread went into detail about it but it was for the GL, not GLS and did not reach a conclusion) but I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

With regard to the topic at hand, I think if you get Panoramic roof, you get the power rear quarter windows (which used to be a special order option.)
I just cannot find anything that confirms this. There is literally no language in the order guide or online about it, at least not on the MY17 cars.

Dam...wish I would have snapped a pic now. I just saw the third Windows vented on a new GLS this week parked next to me at grocery store and they were vented. Only caught my eye because I thought wow just like a minivan! Good idea for third row occupants..

2017 GLS450 (on order)
I ordered a GLS 450 that's built & sitting in Tuscaloosca waiting on a truck. I downloaded an app on iTunes that's the owner's manual. It has instructions for opening & closing the hinged rear side windows but doesn't say it's available with particular models. It may be that it's part of one of the option packages but I haven't seen that anywhere in print.
As far as the 3 zone AC mentioned above, I ordered that even though it seems awfully high for a couple more vents. I live in the south & have a couple of pets that will spend time in the rear with the 3rd row seats down so it's something I will use a lot.

After some digging, I think I can confirm that the Panoramic roof gives you the vent windows. If you go on the MB configurator, if you look at the interior, zoom in near the bottom of the driver's door...notice that there is only 1 button for the trunk. If you add the Panoramic roof, and then look at the same spot, a 2nd button appears for the windows.

It is annoying that literally no where do they say this..not in the order guide..not even online.
I ordered Pano roof so I guess I'll get it

I have a 2017 GLS 550. It was an order. I have the Panoramic roof and was surprised it came with the 3rd row Quarter windows. When I got in I asked about 2 switches on drivers door. I do like it
