I need to put a new set of wheels on my 2017 GLS 500 (with AMG package) since I decided to use the original 21" rims for the winter tyres. I'm looking into 22", 23" or even 24" rims, but available tyre options in 23" seems to be very limited. I have HRE and Vossen on the radar, but need more options.
I would like dark/black rims with a clean look. Ideas?

Hey Christian. I'm surprised that you would cross shop Vossen with the HRE's. HRE is widely considered the industry standard when it comes to aftermarket wheels while on the other hand Vossen has had a checkered past when it comes to quality.
What are you looking for most in your wheel? Affordability? Styling? Quality? I can help you make the right choice for your GLS.
I have no opinions about either HRE or Vossen at the moment, the reason they are both on my long-list is only based on their marketing and that they both seem rather well established in the market. I have had and liked Carlsson and Brabus on earlier cars, but I don't really like their current offering.
Quality/style is my #1 priority and I'm willing to pay for a nice set of wheels.

Christian, my apologies, David seems to be once again keeping it classy throwing out alternative facts. Remember he's a re-seller, we are the manufacturer.
I personally invite you to our state of the art TUV Verified factory in Miami where we build our Vossen Forged Wheels. All our factories worldwide are TUV Verified actually. Also note we have a collaboration with the Novitec Group, building wheels for their Aventador SV.
Our wheels are on everything from the LaFerrari to the SLS Black Series to the GLS.

Thanks for the offer Mike! Very tempting to come visiting you, but a 10 hour flight from Europe probably make it difficult short term
What rims in you product range would work on a GLS?
For those that don't know - the GLS500 is the model designation in Europe for the North American GLS550 - glad the wheel guy's are hipster's to recognize that..
After looking into many different options and what was standard/bespoke and also what could be delivered rather quickly I ended up with these 11x23" Brabus Monoblock F forged rims with Yokohama 305/35-23. The new set of wheels are quite a bit larger than the original AMG rims with 295/40-21 (that still will be used with winter tires between november through march) and "fills" the fenders much better.
I really thought 23 would look enormous and over the top. I have to say I was wrong. This looks perfect! However the wheel circumference must be quite bigger now... Do you feel the difference in terms of acceleration? Are the wheels touching the arches under big compressions, especially in sport mode?
I haven't experienced any problems when driving. I heard that some owners experienced a slight touch in the inner plastic lining in the front wheel wells at low speed when the front wheels were turned max left or right, but I haven't noticed that. If that's a concern, you could go for slightly smaller tires like Continental that has the dimension 295/35-23.
No difference in acceleration that I have noticed.
