Taking Delivery GLS 450
Taking delivery of my gls 450 pretty much loaded all options premium, amg, intelligent, exclusive, night packages etc.(In Canada)
Taking delivery this weekend, any tips for negotiation, its pretty hard to get a discount here as the wait list for GLS is almost a year. Im thinking I'll have to pay sticker but any tactics to help me get some off the msrp. I believe msrp is a little over 100k. Or any tactics to get a lower lease rate?
Also does anyone know if running boards are standard? I didn't option them in
Any info will help thanks

Wait up...you are going to negotiate AFTER you take delivery ? It won't be pretty.
And yes, if you ordered the AMG exterior pack you get the running boards.

??
late 2016 many of the local dealers here were taking deposits for 2018 model year not ordering just taking preliminary slots for when it does open up. Many of those were corporate stores owned by Mercedes Benz Canada. So at that time it was a 1 year wait for GLS 450's. If I am missing something obviously please enlighten me I'm a bit confused

Still very confused. You've signed no papers but expect car that has a 1 year waitlist to be delivered to you by the weekend? Even people who put down deposits for the car have to wait 1 year for their car and even then they're not even sure if they're going to get it. That's here in the GTA. I'm not exactly sure where you're located.

Well anyways I took delivery of the GLS450 today, drove it for the first time surprisingly smooth and quiet, smoother and quieter then my 4 year old 750Li and my 9 year old S550. Awesome car, lots of power for a v6 but it probably starts to lag at highway speeds

Try downshifting with the pedal - sometimes 2 notches down (depending on speed and rpm) and you won't find any lag.
Also try downshifting for a bit when you merge from on-ramps into highways.
Combine the pedals with the Sport mode and you'll pass traffic as if it wasn't there.
E.g. I found this method quite useful going uphill in mountain/hilly terrain, and passing traffic using the right two lanes - the left-lane hoggers were clueless that they were lugging their engines and backing up traffic for a mile.

Not everyone looks for the same things in a car. I heard they even make some cars with manual transmissions. And people buy them, and sometimes even pay extra. Who'da thunk !

GLS550 would have been $14,000 more and is not worth it in my opinion especially with higher fuel consumption. where I live gas is $1.75/litre
