A gaggle of MB's
The Mercedes cargo "tray" for the rear covers rear compartment with 3rd row seats up - which does not give you added protection for the 2nd row seats when down.

"Some" owners have used the folding MB system from the 1st generation GL - I don't have part# at hand - others have used the system from Canvasback - do a google for Canvasback cargo liners

Just took delivery of the WeatherTech cargo mat for my wife's '18 GLS450 .. nice quality and less expensive than MB .. exact fit behind the second row ... received on 3rd day with standard delivery
Good Luck,
Steve

I use this one..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Be...item1c8dd34a0f

the nice thing on this one is fold with the 3rd row seat if you need it, I use the same one since my GL450 2009 then keep the same liner in my GL550 2013, GL550 2015 GLS550 2018, yes, a GL's addicted here

I "think" you meant to post this X164 folding rear cargo mat - I have had some of my customers tell me it "fit's" the X166 with a touch of velcro tape:

At the risk of being sneered at, sometimes the best solutions are the simplest. I bought a 3' x 5' commercial door mat at Home Depot 5 years ago when I got my '13 Durango R/T, and I use the same one in my GL now. It snags the grass that flies off my golf shoes, etc. You can slide stuff in easily, and there is usually enough friction to keep most things from sliding around. The extra length tucks down behind the second row. You can pull it out over the sill plate to protect it if you have to lay something on the sill and then lift it up to slide it in. You can also turn it upside down to have the rubber side up to get the most friction against sliding. And the best part? Less than $20.00, and you can toss it if it becomes too gnarly and get another without feeling guilty. I skew the mat to the pass side because that's where I stow the golf clubs.

Thanks all for you inputs we went with:

Wanted a little more protection although the 3x5 commercial mats would have worked.

I would like one that also covers the 3rd row armrests. The leather is really exposed.

I have a 2017 GLS450 and bought WeatherTech floor mats for first and second row and have been happy with them.I am pretty rough on cars so I purchased a cargo liner from www.cargoliner.com and have
been very happy with it. It covers the back of the second row all the way to the tailgate. It has cutouts in all the right places, it covers the side arm rest and handles the split 3 row seat without a problem. I bought the optional rear hatch and bumper cover. I stopped at the back of the 2nd row but you can purchase covers for the back of the driver/passenger seats. It is not leather but the material doesn’t feel cheap and there was no initial smell problem. Initially, parts of the rear hatch kept detaching from the door but I just added a little bit more velco and the problem has not returned. Their website does not specifically state the GLS model but does show the GL. I contacted them and sent some pictures and they confirmed that everything would fit and it does. So far, I’m a happy customer and recommend them.

I recommend not to get the WeatherTech mats. I purchased them for all rows and the rear cargo and they didn't fit properly. Rear edges and sides are curling up and doesn't look good at all.

Had them for a week and will be returning them.
