Yes - I was in lockdown since Cabo - frankly not what I wanted - as a favor - please don't get this forum - or my name involved with your local dealership people - please...

Thanks fab ... a quick skim indicates the 2019 Model is not the major redesign ... I purchased an early '18 and my wife was REALLY grateful for the upgrade from the Navigator, needless to say. Thanks for keeping us with the latest and greatest. Steve

No new X167 for 2019. Some will move on, maybe to the new BMW X7.

Will the GLE W167 be be coming as a 2019?

Considering the competition it may be better that Mercedes wait. I believe they need to focus on a total redesign not just the interior. For me, MB needs to wow me. Yes, some may move on but once they release the total redesign some may come back and new folks will join the bandwagon. For now the GLS will likely loose more notoriety due to the newer SUVs, just my opinion.

Huh...compared to the 2018 DOG it is nearly identical except the removal of the two paints as noted in the "Revision History." Also, they eliminated the "Trunk Compartment" page in the options in detail and they eliminated the "Grand Edition Package" page in options. Just ordered my 550 so not losing out on a thing.

Isn’t Apple CarPlay a new option in this new MY19 ordering guide?

No...it isn't new. It was on page 16 of the 2018 DOG part of the P01 Premium 1 Package

New GLE vs GLS

The GLE is a year older and has got to be new for '19 - no way it would go 8 years. Always been a 7 year schedule - '98, '05, '12...'19. As I said in the other thread, it would be highly unusual for MB to redesign both GLE & GLS at the same time.

The thing that makes all this confusing is that several news outlets are reporting the Maybach GLS will be unveiled this month as a prototype and the production version this fall. How is that possible if they haven’t released the X167 model yet? Nothing is adding up to me.

I agree that is confusing. Either it’s not accurate, or the Maybach is considered enough of a distinct model to not be tied to the regular GLS release.

So no major redesign for 2019 GLS or 2019 GLE ?

W167 GLE debut

I still think the W167 GLE will drop this year. There is no precedent for running a model 8 years. If past is an indication, the dealer ordering guide will be out in June. Worst case is the reveal is at LA end of November.

I still think the W167 GLE will drop late this year or January next year. Worst case may be Detroit reveal in January. There is no precedent for running a model 8 years. I always preorder the first of the new model - this will be my fourth ('98, '05', '12,...'19 '20)

Disappointing but not surprising given the sales trend. This gen has sold more year after year...

I hate to say it but..... I TOLD YOU SO!
I specifically asked my dealer about this since my main attraction for a new model would be the new Command and double screen system (which I love on my 43). He said it wasn't in the cards till 2020 model.

All we know for sure is the 2019 GLS will still be the X166 model. What we don’t know (yet) is when exactly Mercedes is planning to introduce the X167. For all we know the X167 could be released very early next year even though it will be 2020 model. I ordered my 2017 GLS in February 2016 and took delivery April 30, 2017. I would love to order one early next year and have it be a 2020 model, it only helps the depreciation.

MB will skip out on Detroit Auto Show 2019.

Its very likely Maybach GLS will be introduced as production model this fall, with a release later next year as a 2020 model. Whereas the GLS model could be introduced in the summer with a release Q2 of 2019. Basically, there are tons of opportunity to launch the X167 GLS, doesn't have to be at an Auto Show.

Wow, just like I said months ago, the 2019 will be the SAME as the 2018. It amazes me how clueless some of you guys are about Mercedes if you claim to be a fan of the brand. Why on earth would you think the 2019 model would be all new for 2019 and they haven't even shown the replacement for the older GLE yet? Not sure why that was so hard to understand 5 months ago.

That backwards man, and it won't happen. There might be a GLS Maybach concept shown, but the production model won't be shown before the basic, everyday GLS is shown.

Exactly my point, if MB does show a “lightly veiled concept” GLS Maybach at the Beijing Motor Show this month and a "production" Maybach in late November at the Los Angeles Auto Show as several site have reported, they would most certainly show the production X167. And to be clear, myself and others weren't pulling X167 predictions out of thin air. MB could simply have made a change in plans and needed more time for the new model. Regardless, there were a lot of signs pointing to the X167 as 2019. This conversation may change again before the end of this year.

M
is it possible that Maybach will be the intro of the new GLS with full production of GLS models to follow? But that means the factory needs to produce two different models at same time - doesn’t seem likely.
But also doesn’t seem likely to introduce Maybach on x166 only to change it the following year???
