All Terrain Tires
Hello all, I searched and mostly the G wagon guys post about All terrain tires. We will be needing new tires soon and I want a new look. We have a 2017 GLS450. I have a few questions but I'll start with what I want. I would LOVE to go with 22's (yeah I know everyone is going to hate) with an A/T tire. I've seen a very few online and they look great. Is anyone running that setup? My wife does alot of commuting with it and we also tow a horse trailer 1-2 a month. Some of the destinations have pretty rough roads/driveways. Will 22's work or Would the stock 20's on A/T be a better option all around? Pics or experience please feel free to chime in. Thanks!

We live in Montana and our GLS sees plenty of dirt / gravel roads and pulls a 25 ft boat. I went with a -1 configuration and installed Goodyear Duratrac tires after tearing up the Conti's in the first 9k miles. The Duratrac's were great initially and have a 50k treadwear guarantee. I'll never get there though because they have become so noisy after 20k miles. Ride quality also suffers more than on other vehicles I've used them on. I can't recommend the swap, especially if your wife is sensitive to ride quality and tire noise.

I’m leaning towards this wheel and tire size....maybe with a little wider tread. I haven’t nailed down a wheel yet and it will be a few months. I don’t drive it often. Weekends and camping trips. Check out the GL class gallery on their website, it has decent pics and options, but no real details on size specs. Ill take mine to my local shop and show them what I’m looking for. I will definitely post a pic when I get it figured out.
