May buy 2017 GLS 450 and have questions

Might buy a used 17 with 30k miles. I’m coming from a GMC Denali and loved the power and AWD but the rest of it felt cheap. That coupled with all the rust everywhere I ended up selling it. Are there things to take note on one these? How well does the v6 push one around??? Thanks in advance!

The M276 seems reliable but as always there can be issues.

With a bright flashlight, look at the front of the cylinder heads where the cam actuators are attached. Check for oil leaking or weeping.

same for under the vehicle, check for oil leaking from the rear of the engine/front of transmission.

I have leaks from both of these areas on an M276 with 33k miles. If the seller agrees to repair leaks, if any, that would be a positive.

Isn't it still under manufacturers warranty? The GLS450 is quiet, comfy, quick and practical. Every time I have a rental car or I'm in an uber it just reminds me of how much nicer my car drives. I kept mine completely stock and wouldn't trade the comfort for the power of an AMG. The only issue I had so far was a check engine light because of a faulty gas cap which was replaced under warranty but my 2017 GLS450 has only 12k miles on it

Thanks guys for your input. The vehicle in question is actually wrecked. Not sure of the title status or if I will put any bids on it as of yet however it appears to have been taken well care of. I have a friend who’s a MB mechanic and the service records are all up to date with no issues. Obviously I’d be buying as is

Wouldn't touch that with a 10' pole. After drivers side repairs, airbags, body parts, and electronics, it's doubtful that it would ever be right and everything work perfectly again. Not to mention the cost would be close to that of one with no issues and a warranty.

Run, do not walk.

It looks like some non-collision parts have been pillaged (hood air duct trims, hood emblem), likely others.

Well I can do my own collision repairs. No bags are blown. I just put together my sons’s c280 after he hit a concrete embankment when he slid into the ditch. I shouldn’t need anyone to do any work to it other than maybe an alignment and such. They had another similar to it that sold for $12k and I estimated about $8-$12k to fix it and it even had a clean title.

To be honest I would not bother... That car will never run right again and you will always have something wrong with it.. With that much work to is your better off with a used vehicle with even more miles on it but not a wreck like that. Again just my humble opinion.
