Strange air noise rear of GLS 550 on hard acceleration
I am hearing a weird staggered air flow sound from back of GLS 550 when I hard accelerate from a stop.
I don't do this often, so I hadn't really heard it before. I can replicate it at will now.
The vehicle has 52k miles and is out of factory warranty or I would just take it to dealer.
I took vehicle to local MB mechanic. They confirmed that sound was coming from exhaust moving bumper where a bracket was broken. Upon further examination, I found that tailpipe not aligned with bumper/diffuser. I also noticed heat shield was crumpled on that side and straightened it.
I went to buy part and fix myself but this part (166-880-45-00) not listed for GLS but I found it for GLE.
Does any one know why GLS parts don’t match with drawings or could it be that bumper was replaced and GLE parts just happen to fit?

I replaced bracket and the original noise still exists.
Does anyone know if Airmatic system releases air on acceleration to account for “squat”? The reserve air tank is in the rear. Could there be a leak there only heard as system reacts to acceleration?
The suspension doesn’t seem to sway or have anything off balance so I don’t think it is a bag.
Ours had an exhaust leak near the center resonator. My local shop adjusted an exhaust clamp and it got rid of the noise completely. Does it sound like it could be exhaust noise?
