We drove our old 1982 Volvo 240 wagon up that mountain in 1999 and the only thing we needed to change afterwards were the brake pads.

This still all begs the question of why the engine seized in the first place. Spun rod bearings are usually related to extreme over speed or lubrication failure. It seems to me the engine electronics should have prevented an overspeed by forcing an upshift, which leaves a lubrication failure...




I guess, not knowing what happened, I'll refrain from driving ours up there.

I have seen others having issue and when they replaced the 30G relay or the F32 prefuse box, all the issues were resolved and the car started. Just thinking if the fuse was the reason.
